Why even bother?

You can easily see when the bundling started, but you can't expect a Turkish thread to be fair and mention that.

You’re overestimating the Uncharted bundles.

By the end of October Uncharted 2 had sold 1,443,769

PS3 in the same time period sold: 818,079

So at the very least 600K were sold standing alone, and the real figure is probably over 1 million.

Uncharted 3 sold 1,359,289 on it’s first week, with 343,974 PS3s sold in the same week. So at least 1 million without a bundle in its first week. This also shows the franchises growth.

Second of all, games sell bundles. There’s a reason people bought the Uncharted bundle over the 2-5 other bundles on offer. If Uncharted wasn’t so good at selling the console, it wouldn’t be bundled as heavily. Sony aren’t selling uncharted bundles to sell uncharted as much as to sell PS3s.

I’d like to point out the high meta scores for Uncharted games too, which does a lot to help carry a game.

Hip hip hurray! I still say Resistance should have been going neck and neck against GoW but nobody cared for Resistance 3, even though it was a huge improvement on the franchise. Still, GoW was the better game.

Uncharted, much like Mass effect, is an experience. Grandiose set pieces, engaging story and pacing, likable characters, smart, witty, and genuinely funny dialogue, satisfying combat and exploration mechanics, and a great multiplayer (not amazing/perfect)

Honestly, I found the multiplayer on U3 to be phenomenal, as I hate CoD, FPS multiplayers. I love the fact that the maps are so vertical. You got a wide variety of game types to go through and the co-op parts were also very enjoyable. It isn't an overrated game, none of the Uncharted games are and while I will admit it did not floor me like U2 (mainly because U2 is a goddamn masterpiece and U3 did not try anything out of its comfort zone), U3 earned those sales.

Going off-topic, with the success of the Uncharted franchise and ND currently being in the spotlight, I can see the Last of Us opening with a million sales first week, at most.

EDIT: I don't see the problem with bundling. Sony knows they needed a big, AAA, blockbuster title to take into the next gen so they make sure they made one. I don't see how it's cheap, seeing as the PS3 is the most expensive console atm (wink).

I would love to see gears of war go cross platform, then I could play it online.

 I myself was thinking of the GOTY edition. Furthermore, I believe UC3 was bundled as early as the games release, and Gears 3 also had bundling. 
I'm not a sales person. Thats why you can't expect that explanation for a spike in sales in a Turkish thread, nothing biased and prejudiced to it.

I just wanted to say that two of those million copies are mine, and soon to be a 3rd too (waiting for Explorers to go down in price. Bitch is taking its fucking time XD STOP BUYING THEM GAMERS).

i think one of the reasons why uncharted is selling better per week a year after release compared to gears games (yes bundles sold a lot of uncharted end of last year but it is also selling better weekly without bundle) is that uncharted is much more a singleplayer game and gears a co-op game.

seriously, i bought all gears games day one and would do the same with future releases  but i am not sure if i would buy all of them day one without friends also doing it. gears is one of the best games for co-op and you won't buy it when your friends already stopped playing it.

for me, uncharted franchise is better in singleplayer but it's not as if you have to buy it day 1 because of your friends or something which means it won't sell as much at release but it will sell as much over the years because less people buy gears for singleplayer.
