Yeah around what I predicted. 75 currently. Could get to 78 with a bit of luck. 80 seems like a stretch.

FYI, N4G has a total of 33 reviews for the game. Averaging at 80. It has the potential to go up 1 or 2 points on Meta because a few of those reviews don't have scores, yet sound like 9s.

Didn't most of the fighters this generation get panned by reviewers? I think the highest was SFIV which assuredly did not deserve to be. From what I hear TTT2 is the best in years and PSASBR isn't far behind.

The game mainly got attacked for presentation reasons. Other than that the gameplay and multiplayer was solid.

The problem with it is that there is better fighting games in both categories which would leave this game as an average game.  Most people aren't looking for both, they want one or the other.  That is why they said this game isn't sure what it's identity is.

SSB is one of those fighting games that is one of the best but it focuses on fun rather than being to technical. The random items coming down that can change the game at any second is a part of the fun factor.  It is easy to use any character in SSB as well 

This s why it's important to read the actual content of review, to weigh one's own likes and dislikes, as well as expectations, against the review.

For instance: Shitty looking menus? Who the fuck cares? I know I don't. that has absolutely NO bearing on my decision to play a game.

Staring at ugly menus for a prolonged period can cause emotional distress, didn't you know that!?! Reviewers are looking out for us here!

I agree.  I do find this to be kind of nit picking but I dont really think reviewers are knocking points off because of that.  I just think they are kind of giving a complaint about it although it is nit picky
