It seems like one can come up with any rumour one wants and attach the Final Fantasy name to it to make it legitimate. I should remember this in future.

And it's bad enough you guys are going with a Kotaku rumour as well...listen to yourselves...

I don't think anyone is really taking this seriously.

I see a lot of posts taking it seriously 0_0

I've seen most people doing some thing like "If this is true...", "I don't know..."

Most don't seem to take it too heavily.

Don't know if what this comment said is true (Youtube) but, it certainly brought back hope about it just being a rumor.

"You Guys Remain CALM!
Senior US Editor for RPGSite.net ( and a resourceful source for all things Square Enix ) Erren Van Duine responded to the rumor on Neogaf, stating that Final Fantasy Versus XIII is alive and kicking and will be shown at this year’s Tokyo Game Show.
[The Kotaku rumor] goes against information I was told quite recently, which was that Nomura is hard at work on the game and something of it will be shown at TGS."

So, people don't want to believe Kotaku, so they use another source that no one's ever heard of to back up their argument. People know of Kotaku. Who the heck is this RGPsite guy? Why should I care what he has to say? What info has he ever given before anyone else that turned out to be true?

Besides, saying he was told "quite recently" that Nomura was still hard at work doesn't prove anything. How recent does "very recently" mean? He could very well have been told this right before the cancellation. Nomura told people again in May to be patient. Whatever news this RPGSite guy has could very well just be from a time period shortly after Nomura's plea for people to be patient and before the cancellation.

I just don't understand why this RPGSite guy is more credible than Kotaku. Why does his word trump Kotaku's again?

I think that this couple with the very sensible and logical FFXV rumor has me believing both are true.

Squeenix is probably trying to mobilise all resources for a release this year on the japanese market and early next year for the rest of the world. Most probably coming to 360/PS3/WiiU.

probably SE asked Nomura to port the game to the 360 and wiiU and nomura refused. So now they are just rebranding the game to XV to get it running even on IOS platforms.

IIRC I think there was an interview with one of SE's execs (Kitase maybe? I recall Nomura being in the interview too but he didn't comment.) saying that he'd be upset if Versus went multiplat but that was a long time ago. Nomura's never stated he'd leave the company if it went multiplat; it's just made up fanboy BS.

There's always something about Nomura hating the 360 or whatever but it's not true and no statement made by him has reflected that ever.

I got a question: I thought that the TGS was gonna take place around the 20th of september, but then is there another event which is supposed to take place around the 1st of september (linked to the announcement of FFXIII-3)?

I know right, Nomura isn't a toddler he is a well respected videogame designer over 40 years old. He won't make empty threats like that which sound like bordeline childish tantrums & that too to the videogaming press.
