I coerced my brother into watching it (I pulled the "Don't judge me, but watch this Smile Smile Smile song..." thing...). He was like "okay, weird, but I'll watch it...." then he started puking rainbows and he just took the entire first season from my portable hard drive and is now watching it as he falls asleep. We've already had discussions about which pony is our favorite.
Mine is Rainbow Dash because she's stubbourn, competitive, and full of herself, just like me!
He likes Applejack becuase he himself works on a farm and he loves cowgirls.
So yeah, my order is this, and they're all pretty close:
Rainbow Dash
Applejack
Fluttershy
Pinkie Pie
Twilight (odd, she's the most like me)
Rarity
Funny, I like them in descending order of longest to shortest names!

At least for "our" demographic, everyone identifies with Twilight the most but she's not best pony because you wouldn't be best friends with someone with identical personality. Instead we choose the personality traits we admire in the other (for both making friends and ponies).

very true. Plus I find myself attracted to strength and capability. my last girlfriend was a marine. I just happen to like people who are capable of taking care of themselves, they're far more fun to be around than meek, whiny, emo brats.
