Why is that exactly? I also had first a jap. in the original post and changed it afterwards because back in my head there was a "No, not liked to do that one", but I can't remember why.

It is a racial slur from back during the WWII era I believe. It has mostly stopped having that meaning I think so it suprprises me that anyone would be bothered by it. The funny part, for me at least, is that probably non of the moderators have ever done anything about the use of the word gyped, which is also a racial slur. (Feel free to edit the word out if there is to be some greater form of enforcement.)

 Aha, it is pretty common to write countries short in two ways: First three letters of the countrys name (aka: FRA, GER, NOR, ITA, SPA, AUS, JAP) and domain name(fr, de,no,it, es,at,jp). I use more the former, since not many know the TLD of smaller countries.

 Yes, also well into the 80's. I understand that younger people may not hear it the same way I hear it but as I'm older I still hear it as a derogatory term. I let it slide but I wouldn't advise using it in polite conversation with someone who is Japanese (which I am).

I'm just going to wait until after Wii Fit releases in the US and the first non-athletic fatty gets injured and then sues Nintendo for big money for releasing a dangerous toy that caused a severe injury. Then you'll see it recalled, pulled from the shelves, and you can only get it from those who got it before the lawsuit.

Get your Portable ID!

My pokemon brings all the nerds to the yard. And they're like, "You wanna trade cards?" Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I'll trade this, but not my charizard.

this will definitely pass 10 mil worldwide

In order for a lawsuit like that to work they would have to prove that Nintendo was negligent with how they designed or built the product and that negligence was what lead to the injury; I haven’t tried the game yet but I don’t think that it is intense enough, or has dangerous moving parts, so I doubt that negligence could ever be demonstrated.

Also, if lawsuits were such a huge problem, how do so many fitness products exist on the market? Companies like Bowflex and Nordic Track have been around for decades. I'm sure there is no shortage of people who have been injured using those products which are considerably more complex mechanically.

I hope I will at least be among the 2 million who buy it

{prays ninty release it soon in EU}

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

There weren't any major lawsuits over the use of the Wiimote, which is odd considering how many people seemed incapable of swinging a remote around without
a) smacking someone in the face with a back swing
b) smashing a flatscreen panel/stereo component/media center/lap top
c) making a hole in the wall/window
d) inadvertently hitting a pet.

I could potentially see a morbidly obese individual breaking their balance board though. Not sure what they're weight rated at or whether Nintendo would be culpable for something like that. I'm sure the max load will be clearly marked along with a disclaimer typical to exercise programs/equipment recommending the user obtains the advice of a physician or health care provider before beginning any new fitness regimen.

First cardiac arrest due to Wii Fit use predictions anyone?
