Forums - Sales Discussion - Wii Fit: 1 Million copies sold/shipped

2-3 million japanese lifetime sales is way too low an estimate. i'd put it at 5 million. worldwide sales should exceed 15 million MINIMUM.

yes! my first JohnLucas prediction!

Possible (also not that likley) so it is not a John Lucas. Double it to make it one :o)

"plz don't say that...

i mean you bought def jam icon ? OMG LOLZ"

Def Jam Icon is better than Wii fit, Wii play, Wii Sports and all the other games like that.

And I didn't buy that game; I don't even like it. I got it from uncle.

Less than 10% of gamers will agree with your taste in games ...
The other 90% think their favourite games are way better than the games you like to play ...

If you don't like games like Wii Play, Wii Sports and so on that's fine; claiming that other games of different genres that appeal to different gamers are downright "Better" is ignorant.

Never mind.

Let's make it out this thread without people getting banned.

lol! Is that a challenge? If we're talking sells, my favorite games easily can match the numbers of those games. Wii fit and all that other stuff arn't even games. They'r just toys.

The best selling game in the last generation was Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas which sold to less than 10% of gamers. Your opinion that "They're just toys" proves my point that you're just being ignorant; for a large portion of the gaming market games like Bejewled and Tetris are far better than any game you enjoy, for another large portion of the market Madden and NBA games are far better than any game you enjoy, and for another portion of the market DDR is far better than any game you enjoy.

The simple fact is that regardless of your tastes you're in a minority position and needlessly insulting (or claiming superiority) over another segment is not a good approach.

Let's just drop it, dude.

I acknowledge the fact that you are right.

looks like their will be allot of j working out, not that they need it but I guess it's good to stay in shape, well that's if playing wiifit does indeed burn calories.

In any case that's allot of units sold but it was to be expected, not that I'll be buying it of course seeing as it has no appeal to me.

I'm pretty sure you're already aware of this, but for the sake of being fair, here's your one and only warning on the matter: Using the term 'jap' is highly inappropriate. If you have difficulty typing the entire word Japanese, then I suggest you find something else to do other than posting in a public forum...

Why is that exactly? I also had first a jap. in the original post and changed it afterwards because back in my head there was a "No, not liked to do that one", but I can't remember why.

It is a racial slur from back during the WWII era I believe. It has mostly stopped having that meaning I think so it suprprises me that anyone would be bothered by it. The funny part, for me at least, is that probably non of the moderators have ever done anything about the use of the word gyped, which is also a racial slur. (Feel free to edit the word out if there is to be some greater form of enforcement.)

The term "jap" is also a reference to the late eighties, when western economy was burgeoning after the "fall of the wall" and whatnot. Here in Norway this period is called "Jappetiden" which roughly tranlslates to "The Japtime", a time where consumers started really spending money on the open market!

But in this context, I see no reason to use.

I thought it was two PP's needed to make it a slur
