"Ill use that card, whenver, because there are cheap ass people in the world who will not be willing to pay a certain price for a console no matter what timeframe. "recession" is just an excuse to cover up some of their cheapness. 300-350 is expensive for a console?? Really?? If that is really going to break your bank, then something is wrong. 400 and up is a bit much and 600 is crazy, but no one said it would be anywhere near that price."
1. You implied that anyone complaining about the price is a tightwad, not some people. That's a very important qualifier you left out.
2. They didn't use the recession as an excuse. I was stating that the recession made a price not a good idea. It's not people being cheap. When so many people are out of work, they CAN'T afford to pay that much. Do you even know what a recession does to people's finances? Calling that an excuse just makes you look ignorant of basic economics. If people say they won't spend an extra hundred or so for a game system during a rcession, it's usually because they need that extra money to make their bill payments.
3. Actually, over $300 is expensive. Just because some recent ones launched higher doesn't make it a good idea, especially when sales were shown to be best at $300 or lower. It's basically trying to milk customers, and then claiming that they should just put up with it.
And no, hardware specs are not a justification. That matters to graphics whores, and most gamers are not (even if people in the gaming industry evidently are), or else Crysis would have the sales of Call of Duty, and Other M would be outselling New Super Mario Bros Wii.
