Thats the 3ds Community thread for people to exchange friend codes. Instead of filling this thread with friend codes, just put it there and tell smeags to add yourself in the OP.

I think it's fine the way it is. I prefer the way the MKWii tournament is. It's less complicated. Thanks anyways. :)

Edit: I will ask smeags to add my 3ds code to the 3ds community thread.

No its way better. You actually win Community Cups and there are 4 races per cup grand prix style. You can also see who has the most community points/ leading the community. You should really add it in the OP.

Does everyone have to add everyone to play. If not, I thought it was like MKWii where everyone had to only add the host and could add other participants in the league?

Just add the community code in your mariokart. And tell everyone to add it to theirs to. When tournament time comes hit join community(you would create a room if there are no other rooms in progress)  and wait for others to join. More than one room can be created at the same time so I don't know how this would work with the tournaments. Also, if you want, you can create new VG communities with different rules,( no or few items usable, CC etc).

One thing though I think this codes should be hidden from lurkers somehow.

"The community feature allows players to create groups with other Mario Kart fans while setting up specific rules (speed cIass, items on/off, bob-oms only, etc) to make customized racing and battle environments. Community leaderboards will also show the most up-to-date information from recent races, each leaderboard resets every month which gives almost everyone a chance to make it onto the ranking list.

And if you choose, you could just throw your community code onto a forum for random people to join, or get a tournament going with friends by giving them your community code instead of having each person exchange 3DS codes with each other. In a sense this is somewhat like creating an open "clan" that the public can join that automatically gives a pre-chosen game type for everyone to play.

It's basically allowing every Mario Kart 7 player to set up 1 to 8 custom "rooms" with each having their own set of leaderboards. Then any number of people can join and play in that "room", under the rules the creator sets up, and have their performance recorded for other users of that group to see on the boards."
