 Is it just me or is that absolutely ridiculous?!  So far it looks like this is only required on the PS3, not on the 360 (hard to since 360 does not all have HDD anyway).

I'm a big PC gamer and everything but this type of thing only works on PC's because you're allowed to add mods and what not usually.  Its commonly accepted for PC's if not ideal but on a console?  You gotta be kidding me.

So far here's the things that this gen has taken from PC gaming (both good and bad): downloaded patches, heavy internet connectivity (scoreboards), user mods (UT), and now hard drive installation.  

so what does this mean? the ps3 has better graphic expand to download?

Yep since its a port from pc, 512mb of ram= no load times.

ps3= 5GB to = 512mb of ram.

25mins? Thats a bit much is it not?? It will be worth it to remove load times but still...

I don't get why they require it, as well as why there is no option for it on 360. What if a PS3 owner doesn't want 5gb taken up? And what if a 360 owner doesn't want load times? Strange.

That seems a little long. It would be a long download (5GB), but 25 min!

At the most, I'd rent this game, I have no intention to buy it, so I'm not gonna do this 5GB download anyways.

They ported it from a pc, therefore they do not use the CELL for DMC4 just the graphics card and ram.

Since ps3 has only 256mb of ram available for the gaming aspect, the 360 has about over 412mb.

They need the 5 gigs to replace the needed ram in order to run at 60fps at 640p HD.

It's not a download, it's an installation, and it seems to be required.

I can't wait and I wish all games would have huge installs so that loading times would decrease.

Yea all games have 5gb installs, which would kill our HDD space.
