While final sales numbers are still being collected, consumers in North America have spent over $3.5 billion dollars on Xbox 360 hardware, software and accessories. That’s $1 billion more than consumers spent on the Wii, and $2 billion more than the PS3. When December data is added, we expect Xbox 360 in 2007 to have generated more calendar year revenue than any other gaming platform ever, including PS2 at its peak.

Helps when your stuff has been out longer and costs more than those you are comparing with

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Lol, what ms is doing is spining a negative into a bigger negative.

The KEY to ms' strategy in reference to this type of "pr spin" simply put, consumer ignorance. Were any of you aware that Disney owned the entire ABC empire?..or that Sony owns MGM & United Artists...Im sure the majority of responders on here weren't exactly queued in on those facts, since no one seemed to bring these issues to light.

It all comes down to knowledge of origin, in reference to "content" or "distribution rights" accuired. You can have content, but if (said) content comes directly from the pockets of your main competitors..well then the "grand glorious anouncements" presented by ms, at CES, are all hollow and empty words of a competitor who's in more ways then one trying too fool investors and consumers alike.

On a personal note...maybe they can release another update for Vista so that I may use my stupid computer without bluescreening every hour!

Other than the HD-DVD add on drive for the 360 what showed that Microsoft cared about the HD-DVD & Blu-ray war?

Other then the missinformed thought that sony and microsoft opose each other in everything they do. They do afterall have partnerships. (Sony computers run windows.)

I mean the add ons were likely something they got an incentive to make anyway. While Sony wouldn't want the 360 to have a blu-ray add on because it would take away from the PS3.

MS and Toshiba own the HD-DVD format. They stand to make a huge amount of money if HD-DVD wins.

MS does not own it.

Only interesting news I see is the Disney and MGM deal. I will wait and see what Sony has for tuesay, but if they don't at least hint at some kind of TV/Movie download/rental service, I will have to seriously consider getting a 360. I as many of you know am totally about Blu-ray, but I do not want to have to buy every movie, becuase it is just to expensive, and I hate netflix, and even more B&M. This is somthing that is actually a real selling point for me.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

MS owns HDi, the software that runs every HD DVD player. They probably also get something for every HD DVD sold, but I don't know that for sure.

"and we will continue to be the leading choice for sports fans, with the next editions of Madden and FIFA looking and playing better on our platform."

This is very interesting that MS knows that next years games are already better and will be better on the 360 then PS3/wii, this just proves that MS is paying EA to screw wii/PS3 owners.

I guess it proves great when the MS guy goes to lead EA Sports and the EA guy goes to lead MS, i wonder how much MS is paying EA and that retard who left for EA to screw other gamers.

There is two problems with that.

Fifa is the same on both consoles and has sold 100k more copies on the PS3.

Also, I don't see Madden 09 being a debacle like 08 was. In fact, didn't Madden 07 on PS3 have better graphics then the 360 version? (i wouldn't know personally, I only played the 360 version)

That was....unique. I don't think my sensibility and intelligence has been insulted that thoroughly in a long long time. Impressive indeed.

To Each Man, Responsibility

At the end,

MS is out of ammo
Except the exclusive content for GTA, they have nothing to save them
ofc, they are second, but for how long ....
