firelink said: How does a company "deserve" to be on top? Especially a company that force fed you proprietary formats that you did not even want (Cell, BluRay), made you pay for them with an outrageous price point, lost all of your information to hackers not once, but possibly twice, blatantly ripped off the competition, failed to even care about one of its platforms (PSP), and who is now, finally starting to get things right with the Vita, when they announce you will not even be able to boot up some games if you did not buy one of their overpriced proprietary formats all over again. This was all in the span of 5 years too |
sony always has the leading format on there system the ps2 sold so well because it was a cheap dvd player and sony had to push blu ray so they put it in the ps3 and look now? blu ray and hd is everywhere and all because of sony.
and sony started of cocky at the start of the gen and what happened this gen was a big wake up call to sony and because of that they are the better of 3 companys.
and would you rather a company like nintendo on top (i love nintendo) who doesn't care for the hardcore audience
or microsoft who buys the competition and charges you for an online service that should be free and forcing devolopers to bow down to them
out of the 3 sony is the most humble

Blu ray isn't as big as you think. DVD still holds about half the market. Digital services, rentals, and piracy are hurting sales of physical movies period.
Giving Sony credit for HD is ridiculous.
Why should online gaming be free? It cost publishers/developers a lot of money to offer those services. Little known fact, Sony actually charges them bandwith fees which is part of the reason PSN offers less content. Sony themselves said they lose money on PSN. PSN Plus is clearly an effort to change that.
MS actually saves publishers money by covering the fees of online services.
Developers bow to all console manufactures. Its not the PC world where developers can do whatever they want.
