World is a Yoshi Island prequel, not a Mario sequel.

More puzzle than platformer.

Mario is a baby in Yoshi's Island, so it's the prequel to all Mario games. This turning into a disaster isn't a surprise because you made this thread.

Are we being Rol'd?

 

Anyway, if out of: Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario Land, Super Mario Land 2, Wario Land, Wario Land 2, Super Mario World, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Donkey Kong Country (just seeing if you're paying attention), Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros., and New Super Mario Bros. Wii, only THREE of those are REAL Mario games......maybe the three real Mario games aren't the real Mario games at all.  Maybe Mario Party is the real Mario and the three games named in the OP are just black sheep of the series.

stoopidest thread ever (no offence).

but some consider the 3d mario games the 'REAL' mario games (esp given that they're the only mario games that show any sign of artistic progression)...not to mention 'World' and both nsmb games (given that they were all platforming games with mario as the protagonist, though I must agree that neither recent 2d mario game showed much in the creativity department, but were fun and simple none the less)
so based on my logic, the next REEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLL Mario game is due out in about 2-3 weeks depending on where you live.

Note: I'm still trying to figure out when the next real zelda game is gonna come out.
