Forums - Sony Discussion - So I finished Resistance 3 last night and it was pretty disappointing.

The campaign was going really well until it ended, I checked my time and I beat it in pretty much less than 5 hours. There weren't any epic boss fights like the Leviathan in R2 and it was way too easy. I thought that not having regenerating health would make the game a tad more difficult than usual shooters but enemies drop health packs every few seconds so you're never really in danger. As for the ending itself, it felt like such a cop out, it didn't even feel like  a proper closing to the story, it just ends and thats it trilogy over, no sign of a sequel coming either which I guess is a good thing.

After playing the beta throughout all of august and finally finishing the game in pretty much one day I don't think R3 is really that good. I've only seen two maps and two modes and a few weapons in the beta, but it wasn't any good. I know they're going to be more modes and more maps to explore so maybe it'll be a better experience when the servers open up and the full online is available to play. I'm not going to hold my breath though, I'll just go get Dead Island and hopefully enjoy that instead.

That is sad. :(
I didn't really expect anything great anyways. When was the last time Insomniac made a good game anyways? 2009? pfftt... In fact, I never intended on buying the game so I am unaffected by this tragic news. BTW, doesn't the game come out tomorrow? How did you get it already?

You'll excuse me if I feel like your opinion isn't that credible

Time for hype

Don't most FPS fail at single player experience now a days. They focus so much of their effort for online that single player is usually an afterthought. I know there are a few exceptions but it seems like single player FPS campaigns have lagged or become worse.

sad to hear. i wasn't getting it till fall 2012 anyway, but i'm still getting it.

Well they haven't even made a game since 2009 so... yeah, I gues

That's a little disappointing. This is one of the first games in a while where I'm actually going to pay attention to the reviews. I probably won't pick it up for a month or two because I will be playing Disgaea 4 in my spare time, but I might pick it up depending on reviews and fan reaction sometime later.

The lack of boss fights doesn't bother me much. I didn't care much for the Leviathan fight. It was kind of cool the first time, but it was too slow paced for my liking. Hopefully, the difficulty problem will be addressed on higher difficulties (less health packs/more damage). Five hours is real short for a Resistance game if my memory serves correctly (been a while since I played the first two).

Two quick questions:

1. How would you say the AI is in the game?

2. How much strategy is there in the game? Does it just send a huge mob of enemies at you or are there actually some strategic elements to completing the firefights?
