Forums - Nintendo Discussion - IF Saturn is coming to Virtual Console...

Melissa said:

There are rumors flying around lately about new consoles coming to VC, and one of the ones I'm more excited about personally is the Saturn, since it's one of the few consoles I've never actually played.

But thinking about it, there's a problem.  Saturn has six face buttons.  GC and Classic Controllers each only have four.

Can anybody think of a way to transfer Saturn games to the Wii while keeping a manageable control scheme?

Its real real simple - two things are possible, option B is the least "annoying"

Option A: Nintendo releases an update for the wii that allows the wii to support HC SD cards, allowing us to choose from many high capacity options, (lets use an 8GB one for example). The Wii can then be made to run those games from the SD card - it would have most of the data on the card and need to retreive an authorization from the Wifi connection, thus allowing the game to run on the Wii.

Option B: cheaper, and more space - the Wii will receive an update which will allow external HD's to be plugged into the USB port - same scenario as above, but an HD is cheaper and has more capacity, we can also put our old unused IDE drives into an external case and use that (I have a 250GB one sitting around).

Plenty of room, and completely possible.

Option C also exsist: proprietary external HD - bad choice because it equals more expense for Nintendo's customer, something they have avoided in the price of their console.

Please, no Sega Saturn for Wii VC. We dont need anymore garbage flooding the VC...

say stab stab, kill kill

There were plenty of Saturn games id love to see, not the least of which was Dragon Force , and other Working Design titles - not to mention many of the RPG's that were great on the saturn, and no I dont care if they were rerereleased on the ps1 or 2 or 3 or whatever, id like em on the VC, id buy em in 2 seconds flat.
