That's so sad

Wait.. so her sister KNEW that she was going to commit suicide or am I reading it wrong?

She just didn't believe it, would you believe me if I said, "I'm gonna kill myselfs so that my dad and bro can use my eyes and kidneys respectively"

Same thing

Worst part is that even if not cremated, her organs might not have been compatible with her brother (dunno if cornea needs compatibility though... but if not, that surely is an easy to get transplant from standard organ donors, I doubt the cornea decays as fast as standard organs either.

It's Africa, so you can't expect they get good education.

The URL has "bengal" in it which leads me to believe that all this took place in Asia.

You're right. An article I read showed a pic of a black girl for some reason, so that threw me off.

Now that's a hero, may not have accomplished her deed, but the simple intention makes her a hero and what do you know her life was practically twice as bright and half as long huh?

Yep, she definately had very good intentions.

Ahm. I'm sorry but I just don't get impressed with this kind of stories :/ I get the impression that these always get idealized.

Way to be heartless.

Did the organs even work on the brother and father?

I'm sure she had the best f intentions and guts and all, but to call her a hero, specially when projecting it as something "not even adults would do" is a bit too much. I mean, she was solving a problem by creating a bigger one.

Say her plan worked. I bet her father would be much happier seeing well but without his daugther than otherwise ¬¬

Well, she was just 12. Give her at least some credit. She wanted to help her brother and father, and few people would give their life for that (it's true though that this was a mistake, but again, she was only 12, she didn't know better).

I did give her credit, and I do recognize she's 12  :P
