I gave it a 4/10.

There was absolutely nothing there for me (save for the the new Halo games). I don't understand what compels companies to focus E3 on causal stuff. I mean, only the hardcore are really watching this right now. throw us a bone or two.

Worse than Microsoft 2010, in my opinion.

By the way, I've got some of the trailers if you guys missed them :)

+ Most games were shown being played. Nintendo and Sony have a long history of not doing that so i am glas MS at least let us see what they look like in action.
+ Youtube and the other sites/tv things
+ Voice activation for most things now
+ Halo HD & 4

- Waaaay to much Kinect
- Now a casual company first/hardcore 2nd.
- No price cut
- No new exclusive games (new as in new franchises)
- Some of the talkers got on my tits
- Was just meh

Was just a average conference from a hardcore perspective.

However i am now 100% certain there is a reason why there was a lack of games. I think they are now concentrating on the next gen. This will be the last E3 to be around the 360 i think.

I agree, 720 will be announced, release late 2013, probably why we saw no Lionhead or Rare (that crappy Fable game looks dlc)

Star Wars Kinect, Tomb Raider, Halo 4 were the highlights.

Star Wars Kinect looked bad... Very slow gameplay, controls didn't look responsive. Nothing that you would expect from a good on-rails game.

Its star wars, the music in the demo  was alone better than most of the conference.

the music was great, but didn't match what was going on onscreen at all :/

3/10

Gears of War 3 and Halo 4 were the best parts of the show. I wish Microsoft wouldn't of wasted so much time on multi platform games (first what 12 mins was all CoD:MW3) and Kinect. We get multiplatform games are also on 360, and they have been for years we don't need reminders unless it is something new.

As for kinect games, some eg. Star Wars - we saw that at E3 last year, it was bad then and its bad now... other games were just as bad, all on rails / mini-game collections / sequels to average launch games. It just isn't enough for E3.

Overall my thoughts are the same as Nintendo's 08 press conference -- these press conferences are for gamers, not casuals. Trying to get casuals excited about a game at a press conference that they probably don't even know exists is just ridiculous and the mainstream media will be focusing on PSVita and Project: Cafe.

I'm giving it a 5...focused to much on kinect and the only good thing was star wars(which was a complete lag fest)
i know MS tried to give the "hardcore" gamers some kinect love but I don't think putting kinect integration into high profile games count, and I doubt that it will move kinect models because I don't think many will switch their style of play they've grown accustomed to.

Kinect might do another stellar holiday season with the amount a family/casual/child games they showed today, but it was a rather boring conference,(mainly because I don't have any children or young relatives so I can't speak from a broader sense of view) it seems that MS completely shifted gears from being the so called "hardcore system to a family friendly/entertainment system which will be interesting to see how that turns out.

gears and halo saved they conference

As bad as I think this was, I think Nintendo still has the possibility of doing worse or not much better.

Sure, it will be exciting to see the new hardware, but Nintendo has to bring something much better than the rumors to have a good conference... Wii 2 with better hardware and a gamepad with a screen would be disappointing for me.

My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957

rated it 2/10.
+1 for Halo
+1 for Gears 3

negatives:
all things Kinect
Multiplat emphasis.

Microsoft showed a lot...

But not lots of good.
Everything on Kinect was boring as hell.
All the on-rails stuff man give me a break.
The bad acting on stage was horrible, the madden guys wtf???
Since I am no halo fan there was practically nothing new that's interesting.
The conference was full of shooter sequels mehhh.

The most interesting thing to me was the avatar creator, that's actually a neat tool.

All in all I give the conference a 4.

Think for yourself, question authority

I gave it an 8. Almost all of the Kinect stuff actually surprised me on how cool it was. Well, except for SW, but maybe that's more fun to play than it looks (...). But lots of core experiences and surprisingly immersive 'better with Kinect' stuff. ME3 just about made me stand up and cheer.

The Dashboard enhancements were ALL great, but it looks like there is still nothing in place for US customers interested in XBLTV. I have a feeling that's going to be a problem.

Halo Anniversary looked like typical fanservice (should be a $30 game, but it won't), GeoW3 looks as good as anything releasing this year and FM4 (though not enough of a presence) looks quite promising. Was disappointed to not see any new Rare games or footage of the new Halo 4 graphics engine from Corrine Yu.

Overall it was a good show. People will complain because of the focus on Kinect, but as someone that doesn't own it I'm more interested in owning one now. But it didn't hit a homerun as a conference overall. On a typical grading scale, I'd give them a solid B.
