Well, people arrive for  E3 on Sunday / Monday - so its associated with 'E3 week' but technically the E3 showfloor is open Tuesday to Thursday. E3 is really Sunday - Friday in terms of how it is covered.

Last year Sony's even conflicted with when the E3 event at the convention center opened, so some people left early to be on the show immediately (it was covered live in Sony's booth anyway). This way should be much easier for Sony and people covering Sony, its a good move really.

So they're holding it earlier and in a sports arena?  this is gonna be weird, particularly that second part.  Wonder how far that's going to be from the hotel.
