Forums - PC Discussion - Toms Hardware re-does all browser tests with Firefox 4 - IE9 still wins

Few weeks ago I posted a thread with Toms Hardware browser benchmarks before Fireforx4 came out. IE9 just came out and was pronounced as the best overall browser across various performance, efficiency and conformance tests.

Now that Firefox4 is out, they were kind enough to re-do the tests.

Conclusion -

"If we look at the results by category, Internet Explorer 9 still has the edge. This makes Microsoft's browser the winner by category, as well as by the performance and total placing. There's simply no getting around it, Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 is still the champion."

I personally love using all 3 browsers but I do find Chrome and IE9 slightly better and faster user experience than Firefox 4.

Good to know Firefox got blitzed. Maybe it'll now finally start to weaken.

Trololol, it's like two 6 year olds arguing over which of them is more clevererer, while Chrome just sits back and laughs at their foolish antics.

I think Chrome is like a child who can't make up his mind and needs to change versions every week with a new updates.

Regardless of that, its a pretty good browser.

Why is this 'good'?

Based off the chart, should Opera be the winner and FireFox and Chrome tied for 2nd place...

When you combine the placing from all three types of benchmarks, we get a mirror of the performance benchmark lineup. Internet Explorer 9 is still in the number-one spot. Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Safari also remain in their respective second-, third-, fourth-, and fifth place ranking.

I was basing my statement on the chart on the first page.

The issue is IE9 can be hacked by a toddler on a  fischer price computer. :-p

How is the regular update schedule a bad thing? I personally love getting new features and updates in my browser every six weeks or so. It's not like it's sporadic updating or something, which would be much more confusing to me, not to mention the autoupdate makes it a breeze to keep up.
