$10 is huge,  you would be surprised what they can do with that.

I donated from the Amazon link,  saw it when I was making a purchase and figured it was worth it.

Haiti & Palestinia & the many other countries who actually need money say hello

BTW - nice to see double-standards in action - and when going to Japan - do give them 50 bucks face to face just to feel your own stupidity in it's purest form...

If it makes you feel better, this money is going to organizations like the Red Cross, not Japan.

Japan has not requested any foreign aid, most likely never will during the course of this disaster, and all funds donated will go to countries that are actually in greater need of foreign aid.

People should donate - they absolutely should - but they should also know where their money is going.

I don't have any money to donate :(

In case you didnt get it, the manpower and material of multiple countries and organisations will provide more help in a short period of time then any money japan could invest.

Man, what? It's completely salient to the question of whether or not giving to the Japan relief effort is as moral/effective as giving in other places.

In case you didn't get it : other people (think billions) could make a better use of it that money.

Japan is one of the wealthiest countries and has one of the best system of solidarity.

Giving them money is like giving 50 bucks to a business man who tripped when a kid is dying 3 feet away.
