Forums - Sony Discussion - GT5 : 6.37 MILLION SOLD in 6 Weeks.

Those are great sales, i knew that if a Sony exclusive was to sale 10mill it was going to be GT, which is by far since ps1 days the biggest sony franchise.

Not surprised.

well these are obviously shipped not "sold" numbers but the important part is the current shipped numbers are larger than the first shipment numbers meaning retailers are reordering GT5 to replenish stock as oppose to just having tons of copies on the shelves.

asia sales contributes more due to piracy crackdown (comparing to PS2 era) and growth economy of that region.

still, sold 6.3 million as of beginning of Dec 2010, this means GT5 is disgustingly undertracked here. (even if people do claim it's just 'shipped' number,)

Definitely. I live in Singapore and GT5 was a huge hit here as compared to the previous instalments. The PS3 taught the public here to buy originals and it certainly paid off

And again, I have yet to buy my copy.  Just imagine a boost in sales after a signifigant slowdown when it becomes a Greatest Hits title.

The only thing the PS3 taught my country is to buy the 360 and hack it :P

That's a lot.

Even I might get a copy if I find it for cheap. (Although I'm not a big driving simulation fan...)

The only thing the PS3 taught the Middle East is to buy the 360 and hack it :P

Fixed.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!
