I suppose the iOS devices could threaten the 3DS more than the NGP, but, save for that, there's no real reason for 3DS to outsell the NGP by any less than 100m, and possibly touching upon 200m, in the long run since the DSP gap may itself end up nearing 100m.

With the recent analists predictions on 3DS's lifetime sales, I expect it to outsell the Neo Geo Pocket  Next Generation Portable 5 to 1 easily.

Excatly, especially when you consider that 3DS will be having a 6-7month lead over the NGP.  It also has a killer app in terms of glasses free 3D which should take away a lot of attention from the NGP.

WOW...300M would be a sight to see.  Though I think 3DS will outsell NGP by 3.5/1 I don't expect it to hit 300M; maybe 230M or so but 300M seem near impossible.

Hey, no fair! I wanted to discuss with you how much the 3DS might outsell the NGP.  Why did you get banned for such a long time?  I don't think your sig is that bad.  It's a little in your face but that's your opinion I think.

Yeah, the 3DS will outsell NGP, but the gap will be much smaller this time around. I predict a gap of around 40 million.

I expect the upcomming handheld gen to play out very simmilar to this one in terms of the sales gap between (3)DS and PSP(2).

I want to say it will be an even wider gap, but I think thats only because I'm no where near the NGPs target audience.

I've gotta say their has already been similiar threads to this on VGChartz. Also its going to be alittle one sided since this thread was posted on the Nintendo boards and obviously leads readers to believe NGP will fail miserably. I think the 3DS will sell about 150-million units life time and NGP around 80-mill, similiar to the out come of this generation.

I won't make a "numbers" prediction - but I do predict that the market share will be roughly the same as DS vs PSP

Roughly... 66% 3DS -> 33% NGP
