Hmm. Any reason then, when you check the November Monthly section under American sales, it's 5 weeks?
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I'm not sure the Monthly tab uses the weeks exactly (i may check) i thought it scaled it to be the right number of days (28, 30 or 31 depending on the month)
well anyway, monthly tab issues aside, when comparing to NPD with specific weeks, use the hardware table, it is easier and (at the moment) more accurate.
Ah yes mrstickball you are correct, it does follow exact weeks (which is good because scaling would make things complex and innacurate for software when release dates are involved), and it is 5 weeks for November on VGC.
I think personally the NPD method of weeks in a given month is a bit silly myself, it looks like ioi has the monthly charts working with whichever weeks have most of it's days within that month, much more simple.
So with November, the week ending 4th Nov has 4 days in November but only 3 in October, thus it is part of November..... this to me makes more sense than whatever NPD does
(if someone could inform me how NPD do it i would like to know.... some months seem to be totally out of sync for NPD, and you have to wait two months till they align)
my guess for NPD is that if the week started in the month, then thats what month it belongs to.
Mind you this is total speculation based on wondering how it works myself.

Wow.
We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai
It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

Our monthly charts are based off the actual calendar not NPD's funny number crunching. I think something like every week with at least 4 days in a certain month goes into that month, so November happens to have 5 weeks.
