Which is better? Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics?

Fire Emblem! 117 61.90%

Final Fantasy Tactics! 51 26.98%

I hate them both! 1 0.53%

I love both of my parents just the same. 15 7.94%

They are both inferior too... 5 2.65%

Total:189

FFT, Matsuno's plots always gave them an edge (though he makes just about every game writer on the face of the earth look like an amateur). FE only actually got interesting narratives at FE4 (never played 3, so SHUT UP) and even then the execution was basic. Plus FE's perma-death system I always found to be more annoying than interesting

I prefer Fire Emblem to FFT. Though I think it's pretty close when comparing FFT to any single FE.

However, I like Disgaea, namely Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, more than both of them.

Edit - thought more on it.

Comparing them is an insult to FFT.

How come?

People are short of words these days. :-p

Because FFT is better than FE in anything that FE's good at, and has one of the best stories told in video games, with one of the greatest video game villians of all time and an incredible soundtrack.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

FE wins, I didnt like FFT, but FFTA & FFTA2... FE is more difficult, has a far better story, every character has his own story, better classes, I love the criticals hits, and is more balanced than FFT...

Agreed!

Fire Emblem.

Mostly because of its stronger emphasis on keeping the team alive.

Pixel Art can be fun.

If you like strategy and story, Fire Emblem.

If you like leveling and customizing units, FFT.

I like FFT, but I don't hesitate to give FE the win, personally.

Having only played FFTA and FE (all of them in the west) FE by a country mile. (or whatever expression you wish to choose)

FFTA was a total peice of crap. So slow, so boring, so confusing. I don't like games where I have to have a players guide just to figure out how to do anything, let alone find the super hard secrets. If FFT is anything like FFTA, then FE all the way, however I've heard that FFT is a lot better than FFTA.

I played FFTA for 3 hours and was so confused as to what was going on. FE7 was the first FE game I played and it was on normal difficulty. It was simple enough for me to understand but the complex depth was there if I wanted it. And on numerous playthroughs, I got that depth. FFTA just threw you into mass confusion at the outset.

1.) Fire Emblem

2.) Shining Force

3.) Advance Wars

4.) FFT

FF Tactics is way way better.
