Which is better? Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics?

Fire Emblem! 117 61.90%

Final Fantasy Tactics! 51 26.98%

I hate them both! 1 0.53%

I love both of my parents just the same. 15 7.94%

They are both inferior too... 5 2.65%

Total:189

I have only played Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. The Wii one is my favourite.

I LOVED Final Fantasy Tactics on my PSX, and though I got A2 for DS, I couldn't play it just yet.

Therefore, my clash of titans would be Radiant Dawn versus the original FFTactics and I wouldn't be able to chose one. Not even if you forced me... (Okay, Radiant Dawn, but don't say anything about it, I don't want Tactics to know that I said so).

I just want to hear you people out. I wanna know which TRPG you like better out of this two games/series and why. I would like to know also if you consider this two the best TRPGs out there or if you like other game/serie the most.

Why is that?

Did you play both series?

Which did you play before?

Yes. But the only game I finished was FFT. FE bored me midway through.

I have a deep and abiding affection for Fire Emblem.

But my heart's heart is not here.

That is the stuff.

That piece of soundtrack is completely beautiful.

I remembered you speaking your thoughts on Fire Emblem long ago, when I just started my account in VGC and created a poll about Radiant Dawn and Valkyria Chronicles. I also remember you recommending Ogre Battle 64 in the virtual console. Therefore, there was no surprise for me in your comment .

I will try it out real soon. The problem is I don't have a international credit card and I can't get Wii Points in Argentina, and if I do, they are really really really expensive.

Comparing them is an insult to FFT.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

How come?

People are short of words these days. :-p

Having only played FFTA and FE (all of them in the west) FE by a country mile. (or whatever expression you wish to choose)

FFTA was a total peice of crap. So slow, so boring, so confusing. I don't like games where I have to have a players guide just to figure out how to do anything, let alone find the super hard secrets. If FFT is anything like FFTA, then FE all the way, however I've heard that FFT is a lot better than FFTA.

As a note, My first SRPG was Radiant Dawn and I played it no Normal. The only thing I had to be told was to not use my super powerful characters off the start. Or had I played on easy I would have beat the game anyways.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

I loved these two games. Completely awesome. I've played:

Fire Emblem (GBA)

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

Fire Emplem: Radiant Dawn

Final Fantasy Tactics

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

So I guess there is some relevance to what I say. My favourite FFT is the one from PS1 and my favourite FE is PoR. Even though I love these titles so much, I'll give an edge to Fire Emblem. There are a few reasons for this.

1) I enjoyed FE stories much more.

2) Every battle in FE is meaningful and challenging.

3) There are many annoying unnecessary battles in FFT just for grinding.

There is only one thing that FFT does better than FE which is the spellcasters. Their spells are nicer to look at and are more diverse than in FE.
