Some people here are trying to prove that Christianity is a new religion. Can you point out a verse from Bible where Christianity was declared as a religion? Do the term 'Christianity' exists? You say Jesus 'Christ'? But was his name Christ?

Jew is also not a different religion. Their religious book does not provide any verse which use the word 'Jew'.

The fact is that there is only one religion - Islam. From the beginning of the world. This is why Islam is the only religion who recognizes Moses (pbuh) and Jesus (pbuh) as Prophets. You never find them preach 'Jewism' or 'Christianity'. Some people invented these words and try to portray as they are different religions.

Muhammad (pbuh) was foretold in the Bible. So is the Hindu scriptures talk about him.

Some Muslims may be extremists and I don't want to defend them. Some Christians are also extremists and I don't want to call the whole Christian world 'terrorist'.

But you can't blame the car if the accident is caused for the driver. Muslims and Christians are drivers of the car but some can't drive it and cause accidents. Blame them and not the religion. Because they talk about good things.

Osama hit the Twin Tower or Bush killed thousands of innocent people are not guided by the Quran or Bible. It is the people who chose their path. Why we try to defend them? We should read the holy books with contexts and not without contexts. Some people are very much happy to find out killing verses from Quran out of their contexts. This is evil practice. They try to spread the hatred among peace-loving people like this pastor.

Wikipedia is written by some person like you and me. So, I should not take that as Bible.

I am educated because I read the scriptures comparatively. You just answer my one question - Where is the name of Christianity and Judaism mentioned in the respective religious scriptures?

Christ came from Hebrew Massaiah which is translated into Greek 'Christos' and then re-introduced as 'Christ' in English. So, 'Christianity' came from translation of a translation. Now tell me, if your name is translated twice, can anyone recognize you? Should you be called by that name?

dude, whats your point?

Please read my post and you will get my point. Or at least read the last para.

Let me break it down for you, from the perspective of truth.

Every Religion is made up. There is no God. It matters not how the fictitious text that one group of people came to be compares to how another fictitious text came to be.

Arguing that there is only one religion, is like arguing that Capitan Picard could kick Capitan Kirks ass.

Religions don't need to name themselves within their own religious books to be a religion, I don't see how this argument works. Also Christ means, I think, the Messiah in Hebrew. It's an epithet not a name.

It's also mentioned in the bible in case you're wondering. http://bible.cc/matthew/16-16.htm

No you don't!  The new testament clearly states that ALL of the old testament still applies.  You can pretend Christianity is whatever you want it to be, that doesn't make it so.  You are clearly like most Christians that only pick the parts of the Bible that match what they think Christianity is.  But if you are going to do that, then you and others are being hypocrits when you state that the Quran is more violent than the Bible.  You have definitely not read or understood the complete Bible.

To say I know nothing about Christianity is very presumptuous.  I was raised Catholic and finally decided after confirmation that I had had enough of the fairy tale.

And your the one that continues to make a fool of yourself, just like you did in the evolution thread.

Sigh... how about we take a different approach to demonstrate the same issue.

The world is a big place. Lots of countries and people. Find me one, just one, Christian church that trains people to kill, arms them, funds them, and sends them out to kill/die. Just one.

In the entire world, I just want one. One.

There are dozens if not hundreds of Mosques that do this. Does this not demonstrate there is a difference in the extremes of these religions?

You seem hell bent on proving that Christians are better than Muslims or that Christianity is better than Islam.  Because there aren't any Christian churches that train people to kill at this point in time doesn't mean there haven't been (there certainly has) and that there won't be again.

I don't recall hearing about thousands of children being molested by Imams.  Does molesting and sodomizing young children represent a fundamental Christian belief since it seems to be practiced extensively by some "extremists".

You can't have it both ways.  Both religions have been and will continue to be a hinderance to human progress.

That I agree with, but your argument is just false.

It's like saying your going to spend a night in jail, and they are going to throw you in a cell with a criminal. You have a choice get thrown in with a rapist murderer, or a guy who passed a bad check. When asked what cell you want, you reply "there both criminals, it makes no difference".

I am not saying Christianity is not full of problems, or that there history is horrible, I am just saying the extremists of Christianity today, is no where near the level extreme Islam is today.

Why can't you agree that that's true? It sounds like you feel if you agree with that, you have somehow defended a religion or obviously hate, thus you won't do it.

Wait, you are seriously saying that raping innocent young children is a misdemeanor compared to killing civilians in a terrorist attack.  Sorry, but picking which of these crimes is worse is akin to splitting hairs in my book.

they are both wrong and have nothing to do with neither islam or christianity, and people who comitt those crimes are not real christians/muslims.

They get annoyed when shows like south park try and portray Muhammad because its against there religion to draw or create something that someone thinks is Muhammad. its not against Christian religion to draw Jesus.

My main problem with this is that THEY aren't suppose to do that. NON-MUSLIMS don't have to follow the commandments of the Musilm religion, so I don't get what all the protests are about.

But if you are a descent person you'd respect their rules.

If they're decent people then they'd respect our rules (that is if they want to live in Western countries).

Google any empire and massacres have been committed by all of them. Don't forget European empires justified colonising the rest of the world by bringing 'Christianity' to the 'uncivilised heathens'. It also made it easier to kill them when they were degraded to mere beasts. And what do you expect Muslims to do when a Crusader army comes along? Welcome them with open arms? All 3 of the Abrahamic faiths are as violent as each other whether now or throughout history.

And I quote Richard Dawkins:-

"The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully."

''Google any empire and massacres have been committed by ALL of them.''

Exactly. So why is the finger pointed at the christians all the time???? And believe me, if muslims empires COULD  colonise the rest of the earth, the would most certanly bring ''Islam'' to the ''uncivilised heathens''. As for the crusades, maybe muslims shouldnt attack the Holy Land in the first place? Then the corrupted church would have no excuse to send soldiers to fight and die for their profits.

Richard Dawkins, like many other atheists, misunderstood the Bible by a lot, cant recognize a metaphor, takes the Bible too literally and totally dismiss the parts about the teaching of Jesus, which are MOST IMPORTANT parts of the Bible.

Eh? You said Google Ottomon Empire (because it's Islamic) as if that's the only empire that has committed masscares, I said to the contrary. No one's just blaming just Christian based empires for committing henious crimes but it has been done and was done in the name of Christ. The Bible and Qu'ran both feature passages which condemn infidels to death under certain circumstances. And yes that includes the New Testament. See my earlier post about a verse from the book of Roman. That's a clear instruction to kill infidels. Sure nowadays there are more deaths being committed in the name of Islam than any other religion but how long has it been really going on for in modern times? A couple of decades perhaps. It's not an absolute truth and doesn't mean it has to be that way. And don't forget the US through it's Islamic fundamentalist ally Zia, dictator of Pakistan, were supporting the worst elements of the mujahadeen in it's fight against the Soviets during the 1979 invasion of Afghanistan. Ever heard of the term blowback? That's exactly what what we are seeing in many parts of the Islamic world. CIA sponsored blowback.
