Forums - Sony Discussion - Anton Talking about Move and Kinect: HipHopGamer

It was a really good interview, and the things Anton said really did make sense. I think Move will be a great product, and i'm being convinced more and more to try it.

wow, that was a surprisingly good interview.

i especially liked the quote, "when the rubber meets the road you have to make games that work.  you can only ride the gimmick for so long" which is pretty much exactly how i feel about the wii and kinect.  the wiimote was a good first stab but i really felt let down, kinect just seems like huge letdown already and it hasn't even been release.

i dunno, compaired to the other options Move just seems so....capable.  now if only sony got their message out there.

truer words were never spoken!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Didn't a while back, someone proposed all threads involving HHG be immediately locked?

Anyway, he MUST be hated on now. This interview was obviously just smoke and mirrors and those tech demos aren't real because all HHG does is spread rumors and lies, right?

Pretty good interview and not what I expected from what I'd heard about HHG.

Personally the whole thing about good games is the key comment.  Even on Wii a lot of (non Nintendo) titles seemed to struggle to know what to do with the controls.  This remains my concern with Move, too, although Sony do seem to be giving it some decent thought.

Kinect also has shown some promising bits and pieces but given how different it is I'm really concerned that it will get at best Wii like titles and no-one will actually do anything that radical with it.  the Milo & Kate stuff for example was interesting but seems to be locked into some development hell while MS marketing focus on light, Wii like titles that mostly look to be trying to "out Nintendo" big Nintendo titles.

In the end even the Wii has struggled to see consistent titles and the console is inside out designed for motion controls, so this has to be a concern for Move and Kinect as mere peripherals which have themselves to sell well enough to even create an install base for the titles.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

That was one good interview and I know its not somethin to take accurately cuz is from a Sony employee but the info about Kinect was really interesting.Still I dont think we give a fuck about motion control in Killzone 3 but if its just an option its alright.

I just hope the stupid Wiimote/PS move design doesnt take over for the next generation cuz Standard controller should always be the default controller.

Nintendo made me a gamer so I'd be stupid to ever try to forget that                                             like so many people nowadays

Such a great interview. I like how honest Anton was

This interview trumps any I've seen about motion gaming. Good, info.

This is a tech/dev guy (Anton) who is damn proud of what he has accomplished and wants to share it with the viewers.  He was honest, he actually EXPLAINED WHY they do things.  Hell, his bit about the XMB was fanastic, I would have never thought of that (and I can imagine how bad it might feel afterwards).

After hearing Anton speak about his (Sony's) product, I cannot help but be excited (tho I still refuse to buy it as of right now)
