If only the 360 wasn't so expensive and an unreliable piece of hardware I would get one to play games like this.

Thats the only reason for me to not buy one, lol...

Same here.  I'd probably get myself one for Christmas this year if it wasn't for the continuing hardware issues.  Even with the "new" ones, it's still too early to tell if the problems have been solved.

People said the same thing about the Elites but turned out they RROD just as well.

I would wait a few months to see if RROD occurred in the newer ones which just came out recently.

I don't know if I'll buy one myself but the RROD is a definite deterrant to me even considering it.

Of course they brake, they're electronics. Are you expecting ALL malfunctions to end because they modify the console. Even ps3 and wii brakes. The thing is, you are going to see new consoles get RROD, but that doesn't mean they have a high failure rate, like the old model.

You will of course never change your mind, because you don't want to, you will never buy a 360.

Hey, with Euro numbers for Week #2, ME is now upto 400k, and is near-guarenteed 500k after US week 2 numbers are out.

I'm excited to see week #2 in the US, I really hope it has legs, I'd like to see it clock in over a million for WW lifetime sales. What do you think Bioware expected of it? I don't believe Jade Empire had amazing sales. I'm wondering if EA deems it nessacary they'll port it over to the ps3 just to push extra sales. Personally if wouldn't mind i it helped keep the franchise alive.

One thing that pitched in to making this game so great, is that the universe is so believable. I've watched alot of sci-fi movies and series, and the universe of Mass Effect is more exiting than most. One thing that I found myself doing while playing was to religiously read every new message that dropped into my codex-box. For those who haven't played ME, the codex messages are short texts about the universe: different species, history, planets, technology etc. About half of them are read by a commentary and half of them are just text. Bioware did kind of the same thing with Jade Empire, but it never really interested me. In ME they were much more well written and entertaining.

Btw, I'm gonna buy The Witcher, seems like a great game. Hope it works on my laptop though. Can anyone who has it tell me if it will run (smoothly) on a dual core 2 GHz, 2 Gb ram, Geforce 7600?

You should be good. Might have to lower some of the settings. I ran it at max settings except for resolution and had some framerate issues in cut scenes with a Athlon fx-60 2 gigs and a 7600 gt. I have a 720p TV for a monitor so thats what I run most games at.  If its a core 2 duo you ought to be golden.

Like some of the other posters, I'm taking my time with this game...I'm at the 15 hour mark(spent some time doing sub quests in Citadel/visiting planets) and just got the last crew member...The choppy framerate doesn't impact on my game time at all as I'm having an absolute blast with it! I LOVE the music in this game...It adds so much atmosphere...Galaxy Map music is fantastic as is the main screen music(think Vangelis circa Blade Runner or Jean Michel Jarre before he turned into a total wanker:)
Around the time of obtaining the last crew member the game seems to have put it's foot on the gas...jumped 5 levels in about 3 missions(1 main,2 sub)...It's a whole heap of fun...can't wait to see how it all plays out across the trilogy...
I expect this to still be selling next Q4 as it will surely be on the classics budget label by then...1.5million WW should be attainable...

I think everyone forgets the longevity of Oblivion. IMO, ME should have great legs.

If one used "standard" legs, the absolute, positively, worst legs that Mass Effect could garner would be around 960,000 units (3x multiplier). Using Gears of War as a base, it could wind up with near 2m units. I still think it'll do better than that. My 3m-4m prediction still stands.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

@elnino334 and others who say Mass Effect is better than The Witcher but have not played both

Go try The Witcher, it is the deepest RPG we've seen for quite a while. The Story is brilliant. You can even check the Gametrailers review, they pratically loved the story and the deepness of the game. Infact, from their review you would've thought they would've given a higher score to The Witcher. GT's video review of The Witcher seemed more positive than their ME's review. Guess moneyhats and hype pay.

I never heard they same "a sea full of completely awsomeness" like they did mass effect. You spin things way to much and have your opinions as your facts

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.
