Want to add something to my previous post.

When I first read the interview in this thread I knew that comments like "Sony just waits so that they can copy Nintendo and MS." will come up. Seriously guys, if you hate Sony then do it for your own and don't write BS like this. It's just annoying, so stop it. (Why can't this being considered trolling?! btw...)

Why?

Sony isn't keen on innovating, they'd rather let other people do that and then improve on their designs.

They saw what Microsoft did with Live and made the PSN based off of that.  They looked at what people liked and didn't like to make it.

They saw how Nintendo captured a new marked with the Wii and made the Move.  They decided to make a Wii that the casual crowd could still enjoy but also provide games the core gamers have been screaming for.

As much as you don't like people saying it, Sony is good at taking a look at what others are doing and then trying to make it their own.

Lol ok right so Sonys the only company to do that right. Like Nintendo didn't look at Atari back in the 1970s and say hey we want in on what they've got there right and Microsoft didn't magically enter the consol market last gen either, no they've always been here right. Infact Sony never released a peripheral for the PS2 that looked like a camera and could track your movements. Nah Microsoft is the only company to have that sort of technology because they are so innovative.

I mean screw Sony. If Sony never entered the consol market it would have been a much beter place because all they did was copy every other company out there.

I know.. no matters what the case is , Sony well be just a copycat , even if they're the ones who invented and developed the DVD ( along side with Philips, Toshiba, and Time Warner for that matter) and the first ones to demonstrate an optical digital audio disc as a spin-off of laserdisc tech 3 years before any other company , and let alone the blue-ray , HDMI , CELL processor (?) , 3D ( bu bu but the Virtual Boy did it ... I'm talking about the real advanced technology ).

" This is from my other post ,,, OH there are hundreds of these people in here "

Hey don't forget Sonys walkman either lol. I mean all these kids walking around with there ipods in there ears listening to there favorite artists, (probably the artists signed to Sony Music lol) bashing Sony saying all they do is copy lol. This is why I said pure ignorance in my first post on this thread

... AAAannnddd this is why people like you shouldn't post. Walkmans have nothing to do with gaming.

Ultimately, twestern wasn't saying that copying is bad business-wise. If it enables more sales then more power to the company that does it.

If so, Sony are more stupid that I thought. Here I was, thinking that perhaps this gen had taught them something.

Xbox 720 sounds really stupid... lol

In a certain way Playstation 4 is not that good also.

It's like movies, after the big 3 it looks not as cool. I don't think it'll be called that.

I like the sound Of PS4, has a better ring to it then PS3.

But honestly, launching late isn't that bad of an idea, so long as you have the power and lineup to back it up. Look at the ps2 and Dreamcast.

The issue with the ps3 was that it came a year after the 360 and was categorically inferior to the 360 in almost every way at launch. Weak network, no in-game XMB, weak first party line up (thanks to Sony focusing on ps2/psp), multiplats that looked better on 360, all for a much higher price. All it had going for it was Blu-ray and far off games like MGS4.

If they can launch a year late with an obvious hardware advantage, a strong first party launch line up (Uncharted and Killzone within the first half a year, for example), and multiplats that are obviously superior on their platform, I think they could pull it off. The refinement of Cell and Blu-ray should allow them to create a powerful successor to the ps3 without the crazy overhead they suffered from last time, leading to a cheaper initial product.

They can't afford to launch late next generation because they are third. With this generation they could have come in at any time and people/developers would have waited for them. This isn't the case anymore, if they come in late then they risk seeing Nintendo / Microsoft / Both developing a massive lead which they will not be able to overtake. Consider the 3DS lineup of games, is there any reason why Nintendo could not repeat that feat with the successor to the Wii?

This is a gamble that could pay off or backfire on them ...

If Nintendo and Microsoft fail to develop something that appeals to consumers Sony is in the position to determine what they did wrong and capitalize; but (at the same time) it gives Nintendo and Microsoft the opportunity to carve off whatever portion of the gaming market they want, and Sony could be left with the scraps.

The worst case possible for Sony is if Nintendo produced something as/more popular than the Wii, and Microsoft was able to build off of their current success, leaving Sony a year (or more) behind with only a niche market.

I just wanted to add seperately that theres no way the PS3 can compete with a next generation console which has a better interface, a more cost efficient and more powerful architecture and which is potentially stealing their own PS3 audience whilst at the same time tempting future potential PS3/PS4 owners onto a different side.

He is just trying to throw us off. PS4 in Stores this October Secretly without telling anyone. Take that Nintendon't & Microhard !

As you said: they improve! Improving is not the same as copying!

And not to mention EVERYONE does it.

Who cares, the next system by MS, nor Sony will come before 2012, that's two years to go at the LEAST.

By this time PS3 will be leading the HD sales chart and Microsoft will be pushed to push out new technology so they don't fall back. I believe MS cannot afford to go second, Sony can as they are the dominant gaming brand. Wii doesn't impact either market, as Sony and MS really don't expect to get the casual gamers to their system. Sony more so doesn't care, as they sold more than 120M PS2's and they know how many people will eventually pick up a PS3. MS has been watching 360 sales go downhill, and watch the PS3's just climb year by year. If anyone feels the heat first to abandon their previous system, it will surely be Microsoft.

Some of you are idiots.

People steal eachothers good ideas all the time, to improve them on their point of view. Yes, but Sony is the innovator of the entertainment business, not Microsoft or even Nintendo. And to think that a comapny should ignore good ideas from the competition is beyond stupid, as a company seeks to bring the best they can to their service.
