So wait, Activision (already the biggest 3rd party dev) now owns World of Warcraft? God help us all.

Actually, I think it is more that the developer who owns World of Warcarft already now also owns Activision, seeing that Vivendi will have a majority stake in the new company.

sweet jesus, that's insane news. I would've guessed it were an april fools joke if it weren't snowing out.

wow................holy shit that company is going to be HUGE

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

 Activision doesn't exist anymore.

But yes, all these titles are now under one roof:

1. Quake
2. Starcraft
3. Warcraft
4. Call of Duty
5. World of Warcraft
6. Guitar Hero
7. Tony Hawk
8. Whatever Bizarre creations does
9. James Bond

Among others.

I think it is the opposite "Vivendi will own an approximate 52% ownership stake in Activision
Blizzard on a fully diluted basis" ( from press release ).

It's the french Giant that owns majorship in Activision Blizzard.

That's possible, SSJ!I haven't paid attention to the bond license very well.

But no no no no, Valve is independant. They made a deal with Sierra to publish Half Life 2, but it isn't a binding contract that makes them Vivendi employees. Valve could just as easily turn around and work with EA next time... which is precisely what they're doing, actually.

Epic and Valve are the two remaining independant giants of the industry, and I doubt it's a coincidence that these two companies developer two of the most well known engine licenses for external developers.
