Not to mention that Kinetc will use a custom port (not the standard USB), so old xbox 360's won't be Kinect compatible(at least not compatible with the 149$ kinetc).

That's pretty silly...

If they sell a bundle with Kinect and Console for $300 - they will be making big losses

You have the figures ?

It's a very popular, educated guess.

Natal is probably being sold at MS's lowest point at the moment (ie Break even point). With a $300 bundle they are losing $150 - plus or minus any profit on the new 360 model.

Also take into account Kinect's huge marketing costs.

Care to disagree with my points? My intellectual superior...

Oh no, I wouldn't dare to defy your points based on..... well, your total understanding, and superior knowledge about the X360 and kinect well supported with.... well, I can't say proof. But your total (help me out here) yes.... random numbers about it.

Oh no, Science help me

W.T.F?

Natal is priced at $150, the new console is priced at $299. That's all you need to know, and a bit of basic Business understanding.

$150 $299 = $449

If they are selling that for $300 - Guess what, chances are they'l be making a loss.

And the new Arcade price is 150 dollars, 150 150 = 300 :P

Yea, but I was specifically talking about the new model :)

And by cutting the price of the Arcade by $50 - profits are again going to decrease unless it remains profitable and sales explode.

@themanwithnoname, I'm a Fable fan, it didn't excite me.  Just my opinion but I'm glad at least some people found promise in it.

The thing they screwed up with Fable 2 was that before you even reached the end game you could have already leveled up completely.  So there was no such thing as a mage, or a fighter.  Every character became skilled in every aspect.

Typical RPGs at least make it where if you specialize in something you suck very much at the things you don't specialize in, Fable 1 followed that formula and hense forth was replayable at least.  I was more excited about the kingdom governing features of Fable 3 and the possible Kinect use and neither of those were shown.

I just found the way they tried to pitch the last one to be a little...well, weird for my liking.

Fable II is only behind the Mass Effects as my favorite 360 game. I'm excited to see the stuff you mentioned as well, but I will say that I've always found WRPGs to be at a complete disadvantage when it comes to showing a demo compared to FPS's or JRPG's where you can just show off the battle system. They just don't demo well imo.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

You realize they make a pretty penny on that right?  Over time things are engineered and become cheaper to produce, there's a reason for slimmer models typically coming with a price drop ;)  You can believe what you wish man but they make money on the arcade, they've been turning profits and haven't sold the xbox for a loss in a while.  So selling a newer cheaper to produce model isn't going to decrease that, if they bundle it with Kinect it all depends on which model they bundle it with, how much, and how much kinect costs to produce, which if you've been keeping up they've been making it cheaper to produce as well.

MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"

Wii Friend Code - 5882 9717 7391 0918 (PM me if you add me), PSN - MaxwellGT2000, XBL - BlkKniteCecil, MaxwellGT2000

so does anyone know if the hard drive in the new 360 is inter-changable or is it still MS proprietary?

̶3̶R̶D̶   2ND! Place has never been so sweet.

Ino it's very complex and with current pricing they'l no doubt be making money - however my point was just to show that MS cannot simply force Kinect into stores at rock bottom prices without financials decreasing.

It seems that the new Xbox has a special port to power the Kinect (on old Xbox's you'll need a power adaptor, probably the rumored $189 Kinect).
