Can't wait for Mass Effect 2 on PS3

As a shareholder of their stock, I follow Sony news.  I am not obsessed with anything.  I hope Mass Effect does come to the ps3 cuz everyone should experience the best game of this generation, but I doubt it will.

Back on topic....sony definilely has a lot of problems at the moment.  I hope Stringer can turn things around.  He is a proven, successful businessman but the "sony culture environment" is difficult to change

Around the Network

"The company's digital projectors are used in 3-D movie theaters. Sony Pictures makes 3-D films. Sony's broadcast equipment will outfit new 3-D networks. The company's televisions and Blu-ray players will bring 3-D into homes. And its PlayStation 3 game console will play 3-D videogames. This summer, it plans to start selling its new televisions, a 3-D Blu-ray disc player and a free 3-D software update for its PS3 that allows people to play 3-D videogames and watch 3-D movies. It also plans to eventually introduce a 3-D digital camera, camcorder and Vaio computer."

Well every company has its tough times. Tough Im certain if any one of them can turn the tide around its Sony

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

"Sony agreed to be an official sponsor for a new, all-sports 3-D network from Disney's ESPN starting in June. The partnership "accelerated our foray into this business," says Sean Bratches, executive vice president of sales and marketing at ESPN. The network now plans to show at least 85 live sporting events in 3-D during the first year -- including college football's 2011 Bowl Championship Series title game, FIFA World Cup soccer matches and X Games for extreme sports."

On that note, sony is in the best position of all companies since they have television hardware and production, movie production, game hardware and software, blu-ray, computers and everything else that could be involved in 3d. No other company can bring to bear the weapons sony can in the 3d war.

In theory yes...but  reality is different.  Sony has a lot of debt and a diminishing brand name.  Sony doesn't dominate any of their product markets.

Even in the USA ...sony has fallen from 2nd to fifth place in TV sales.  Sony does not have the financial resources to compete with Samsung and they don't have the cheap labor to compete with VIZIO

as a share holder shouldn't your post be alitle more concernig, nearly all of your post are seeming wishing they will fail, pure condeming,  the Mass Effect 2 just proves your fanboyism, yeah there nothing sony can do to top mass effect  -_-.

This is dumb. Sony is a top competitor in almost every type of electronics and entertainment, including music and movies. How is that failure again?

You would certainly think so.

well that is one way to look at it.

You have a point, but such a diversity might be a barrier as well.

The mobile phone division with ericsson is a total mess for example.
The portable music player stuff is lost.
They dropped from no. 1 TV manufacturer to no. 3
They dropped from no. 1 videogame console manufacturer to no. 3
They are getting outsold with their digital cameras by a lot of competitors

I think that would not be the case if sony was focussed on a few selected markets.

And of course to bet on 3D accross all the divisions might mean game over if 3D doesn't take off.

I thought this would be a flamebait thread, I was surprised that this is an article from a established magazine.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Thats why I called it a war, Sony isn't going to waltz in and dominate 3d. What I'm trying to say is, with all of their multi media assets, they have a very strong chance of taking the lead.
