NX game price if the library is unified?

in Nintendo Discussion on 01 February 2016

Please, can someone explain to me what's exciting about a "unified library". Nintendo never had a problem supporting 3DS, because handheld games are cheap to make: smaller, less ambitous, less cutting edge technically. The platform they struggled making content for is Wii U. So if that's the problem a unified library is supposed to fix, it can only mean we're getting more handheld quality games...

You aren't a privileged Nintendo consumer because you own a Wii U

in Nintendo Discussion on 26 January 2016

A bit convoluted, your text, and overuse of message board slang like "scum", which makes any reasonable post look childish. Anyway, here's my stance: I prefer big, ambitious, classical first party games. Always did, still do. Didn't care for the "Wii something" titles in the minigame era, don't care for Amiibo today. As long as Nintendo provides ambitious 3D Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart, F-Zero,...

    Zelda Triforce Heroes: Big flaw

in Nintendo Discussion on 26 October 2015

kitler53 said: it's absolutly terrible game design to require co-op but not provide the tools to make co-op accessible. Well there is match making and it's quick too, but the teams feel quite disfunctional :/ And on the age issue, exactly. I sent a note to a few friends about the release of the game, but getting them all to buy it and then play at the same time.. it's just too...

    Zelda Triforce Heroes: Big flaw

fedfed said:i am finding the sole mode very rewarding and smart - even more challenging.... you need to think of what to do instead of waiting for other people to do it for you. I am really enjoying this game - yes story mode is not a Zelda Story mode but this is not a bad game at all. I can see what you mean in repeating the stage over and over again with new people but hopefully with...

    Zelda Triforce Heroes: Big flaw

in Nintendo Discussion on 26 October 2015

padib said: OneTwoThree said: Ok, yes :) You are right, that's an option. But can we discuss the random matchmaking anyway? Because for many of us that's the only viable option to play that game. Nintendo have put it in, and I'd bet it's the most played mode.  It would be nice to be  asked if we want to be paired with people who want to speed run or...

    Zelda Triforce Heroes: Big flaw

in Nintendo Discussion on 26 October 2015

Ideas: - letting people vote on the level or world of 4 levels before they form a group. In other words, filter the matchmaking so that only people that wanna play the same levels are matched.  - even better: setting up a distinct "first run" / "story mode" matchmaking which ensures you only play with people that haven't played the level either (the current matchmaking can stick...

    Zelda Triforce Heroes: Big flaw

in Nintendo Discussion on 26 October 2015

I only played "online with strangers" (at age 35 it becomes increasingly unlikely to have gaming friends with spare time and a love for the same series as you). Why didn't Nintendo see the big issue with matchmaking? I'm talking about letting people vote on courses + roulette after they form a group. It makes sense in Mario Kart, where the fun is in repetition. Here it means that you will, most...

Nintendo fans, are you more into Nintendo handhelds or consoles?

in Nintendo Discussion on 20 September 2015

Eeeeasily consoles. What little gaming I do these days is with my girlfriend on the sofa, in front of the TV. Something epic and atmospheric preferably. Handhelds - I own the 3DS, DS, GBA, GB, but I almost never use them. Spending too much time on my own anyway, on computer and phone....

Wii U sales pass 10 million

in Nintendo Discussion on 12 July 2015

Yaaaaaay I've stopped arguing on this or other forums. In recent years, I used to say: "guys, if they don't even announce any big titles by now, when are we supposed to get them? There's only so much time left in Wii U's lifespan, AAA games take this long to develop... there can't be anything more coming." And people would scream and downvote and be delusional. Now at E3 Nintendo has...

Rumour: Twilight Princess getting New 3DS remake

in Gaming Discussion on 11 February 2015

Naaaaaaaaah. Not happening. Remember the gap between OoT3D and MM3D? Almost 4 years. New3DS won't be around in 4 years (it's a stopgap final iteration, like DSi), and they won't follow up MM3D with another Zelda quickly. Also - more than 3 Zelda's on one system? And lastly, why would anybody at Nintendo talk about this? Right now? To a random lower employee at NOA, who are nothing more than a...

Was Bayonetta 2 Nintendo's answer to God Of War?

in Gaming Discussion on 19 January 2015

Sort of. It falls into the same category, and while not quite as disgustingly sadistic as GoW, it's too brutal for me, just as well....

No interest at all in Mario Party 10?

in Nintendo Discussion on 15 January 2015

No. I've only tried Mario Party games a few times, and frankly: They waste your time. What you do most is watch the game play itself. They also lack 'Nintendo polish', since they are developed by Hudson (now Nd Cube)....

Wii U has me excited this year!

in Nintendo Discussion on 15 January 2015

Interesting. Because this Direct was actually a big mood-killer, if you look at first half of 2015: There's Splatoon... ... ... and Mario Party... ... ... and Kirby (only in the US, not EU). So that's 2-3 games in 6 months, when we could have hoped for Yoshi, Mario Maker, Xenoblade X, maybe Starfox. I'm not even touching SMTxFE (we've known about for 2 years) or completely new announcements....

Bayonetta 2 - an expression of freedom and not sexism

in Nintendo Discussion on 15 October 2014

First: I don't mind. But the reasonings I've read so far are really, really twisted. Most people point to Bayonetta being a murderous, sadistic, hyperviolent protagonist as a proof that she's "in control of her sexuality". So does that mean that the only "legitimate" depiction of sex is if it's violent? That's mindboggling, and it's just so American again, I'm sorry to say. My problem with...

Hyrule Warriors Initial Thoughts (a ToxyJ review)

in Nintendo Discussion on 26 September 2014

The lack of guidance and (embedded) tutorials is a biggie. I was massively lost and confused for the first 1-2 hours. Very frustrating. Also the interaction of map and instructions could be much better. Dialog pops up in the bottom left corner, while the map is in the top right. It happens quite often that someone asks you for help, but on the map there's 4-5 flashing squares at the same time,...

Yes it's weird, because they call it "Zelda setup", yet they place both targeting and blocking on the left triggers (target on Z, where Zelda convention would have been ZL), which is really uncomfortable when fighting a boss, where you need to...
