I saw your post on my wall first now.
I haven't left the site entirely, but I've sort of reverted to just being a lurker. I can't exactly pinpoint the reason as to why I don't post anymore, and I was frankly quite shocked to see it's been nearly half a year since I last did.
I suppose that with there being fewer genuinely sales-oriented topics (I don't count the threads with people who go "WILD PREDICTION: The platform I like will sell 40 million in 2017!" as proper sales threads), there are fewer threads I'd naturally post in, but it's probably more me than that to be truthful.
I'll make an effort to post something next time an interesting thread pops up, though! Who knows, maybe I'll get a kick and return properly.
Oooh, you're a moderator now. How lovely. The VGChartz mod crew was just dramatically improved! (How long "just" is ago depends on how long you've been a mod. If it's a long time, pretend I said this a long time ago)
You know, you're quite a brilliant poster. You've kept an average of posting 4 posts a day for nearly 4 years, and I still haven't seen you make a bad post.
You should definitely stick with this avatar. It' fits your way of posting brilliantly. Frankly, I think it might be the best avatar on all of VGChartz.
Out of curiosity, why are you expecting such an enormous increase between week 8 (ending 17th Dec) and week 9 (ending 25th Dec) for all the machines in the 10 week countdown thread? You're expecting a 40% increase for the 3DS, 35% for the Wii, 20% for the X360 and 25% for the Ps3. In 2010, the average increase for the week was roughly 6%, and the same in 2009. 2008 is a bit trickier to compare, as then the weeks ended the 20th and 27th, but then the numbers actually dropped by over 10% between the two weeks.
I'm not trying to criticise your predictions or anything like that (heck, I think you've done better than me every single year so far), I'm just curious.
I don't think there are many rumours for a new Fire Emblem game at all. In fact, I think the franchise is nearing its end.
For one, the cost of making games is increasing, and Fire Emblem isn't likely to start selling a lot more. 400-500 thousand just isn't likely to make a profit anymore.
Secondly, Intelligent Systems has two far more popular franchises (Wario Ware and Paper Mario).
Thirdly, Fire Emblem isn't as critically acclaimed anymore.
From Nintendo's perspective, they have one of their most talented parts working on a series that neither sells well nor is critically acclaimed. I'm not sure if they're going to keep doing that.
