How could she wash my socks, cook me four meals a day and belittle my girlfriend from such a huge distance? She lives with us, of course.

Kudos for your constant struggle, against great oddities, to instill a bit of scientific literacy. It's very much appreciated, even when I - and I'm sure others - don't participate in a thread directly.

"Are you.... Gordon Freeman ?" - now, there's no good way to answer that, is there? :)

Yep, simply very very busy trying to start up a new job. I'd say I'm an occasional lurker for the time being :)

The spiraling part was important. A good exit makes the scene

Yeah, that's why I asked. You owe me a draw now :)

Err, sorry. I received two requests, added you and got you in double copy. Oblivious to this obviosu stroek of luck, I tried deleting one and eneded up empty-handed. And now I can't seem to send you a request on my own. Love the new site, btw. Seee if you can re-ssiue the request :)

the creationism thread is a quick sand bog, as soon as you realize you can get stuck it's too late :)

(Edited my previous because it was cut off). Yeah, I have the feeling that the lag between your complex movemenbts and seeing your avatar doing the same will seem "off" even if it's numerically not that high.

Games at 30fps aim for 3 frames= 100ms, but can require 4 (133ms). Games at 60fps like CoD react in about 5 frames=83ms but fighting games aim for even less. Basically 150ms errs on the laggy side if it's an optimistic evaluation by Rare, but is not an horrible baseline. Plus, moving your limbs is a very different input method so the subjective feeling of "disconnection" could be more evident than with button presses, or less...

I read the short story, but I never knew a game was made out of it. Thanks for the news :)

Hey, just wanted to say thanks for the very informative posts on the Japanese market, and general level-headedness (ugh, does the horrible word even exist?)...

Come on, baseless speculation is fun and easy!

I was thinking of landscapes of which you only explicitly setup the rough geometry on a very large scale... but it basically boils down to the same thing

I wondered the same myself when it comes to tessellation. But I suppose it can still be useful as a common step for procedurally-generated geometries?

Thanks, I went on for a bit -the browser thread- even against deaf ears just in the hope to be useful for other readers.
