A lot of the video takes place at Phi Phi islands, a place I visited as well. Damn.

Doesn't happen nearly as much as one could think! Although maybe its because I always look over my shoulder and don't just run across to a piece of cover without knowing where Ellie is xD

Also what ending did you go for in Infamous 2?
    Half as long, twice as bright ;_;

    on 15 January 2014

No, it never happened to me with Ellie honestly xD But it did happen with Bill! (And considering how fatty he is, it was even more hilarious xD)

I platinumed Infamous 2, but the ending I went with first was the Hero one. Pretty emotional.

The Evil ending is such a bitch. You might lose all respect for Cole. All things considered, I can't see why people would choose that ending (first playthrough). Even if you play as an Evil Cole, you have the option to take the choice you want at the end.

    on 15 January 2014

I chose Evil ending xD, I loved it!
    Killing Zeke was hard :|

    on 16 January 2014

Pfffff. You're an asshole. How could anybody want Zeke dead? xD

    on 16 January 2014

    I changed my mind but it was too late. So I just tapped R1 like three times and he died ;_;

    on 16 January 2014

The guy holds three charges before falling to his death. Now that's what I would call a hero.

Besides, Infamous: Second Son takes place after the Hero ending of Infamous 2. :P

    on 16 January 2014

    Yeah that sux :(
But the hero ending had a lightning come down the coffin of Cole with a "?"

    So.. maybe he lives-zor?

    on 16 January 2014

Doubt he lives, but here comes his "second son" in the new Infamous ;)

    on 16 January 2014

But the Second Sons were like some faction no?

    on 17 January 2014

I was making a word joke, man.

    on 17 January 2014

Yeah I got that xD was just asking generally what the name could mean

Also erm, gameplay wise. They spoke of a lot of powers, they probably should show off a mix cause its getting pretty dull with the same pewpewpew smoke and a bit neon here and there :|

    on 17 January 2014

Well, what did you think about InFamous 2? It is actually the only game I've platinumed so far :)

    on 17 January 2014

I would have platinumed The Last of Us as well if it wasn't because:

    a) I was running out of time and couldn't complete Survivor difficulty (though I couldn't have made Survivor + in time).

    b) fuck online trophies, and fuck a game that blocks you online play for being used game xD

    on 17 January 2014

but Im too unserious and the TLOU MP is too hardcore for me to get platinum there so I settle with all singleplayer trophies XD

    Infamous 2 was great, like a 9/10

You need to give your swedish friend at Gamereactor a call. That score is outrageous (and the lowest by far)

Hahaha yeah it's pretty cool xD

He's not biased at all. It's just the way he feels. (Guy gave TLOU GOTY and its his Top 3 games of all time).

He's raced himself in real life, professionally and if you read his text: You'll see he makes a lot of valid points. He compared his Nissan GTR to GT6 and feels it's not similar at all. He played it with G27 and Fanatec + put 35 hours into the game.

To be honest, reading many of the 9/10 reviews: They sound lower than the score it gets imo :P

The second opinion was by another GR guy (Denmark I believe not entirely sure) who also is a race nut and he gave it a 6/10.

I wonder how many that write for other outlets actually have that for a background. I feel most might score it without that sim background. GameReactor dudes play Rfactor, Iracing and many other "hardcore PC" sims so...

    on 06 December 2013

    5/10 is biased. Fact.

No, the 9/10 reviews don't sound lower. The amazing weighs up the "old" or "outdated". You can't get a better sim racing game on the market. The amount of content is unmatched. It's so hypocritical that reviewers would give the game a HIGHER score if only PD had dropped the standard cars and thus only had 500 cars instead of 1200...

I've seen in some reviews that they say GT6 is fully on par with the PC sims.

    on 07 December 2013

I don't know man, but I trust the dude who reviewed it because I know the guy and my tastes usually correspond with his. In this territory however, I'm completely blind because outside of having a drivers license: I have no idea how racing cars behave and well.. he does. He's not biased one bit :P I love GR because they almost seem pro Sony for gods sake XD He's the CHIEF EDITOR of the place haha

    on 07 December 2013

Pro Sony but anti GT is no good. That's basically anti Sony

    on 07 December 2013

But this is like saying that Quarter to Three TLOU review isn't outrageous. It all depends on context.

It was interesting, though, and certainly a departure from the Indiana Jones-scheme from the first and second game. I think that there were excessive amount of enemies after chapter 12 (considering how slow-paced the other chapters were, and I loved that, it was far more exploring enviroments and solving puzzles, with the ocassional shoot-out). Can't stress enough how much I enjoyed that they focused on Sully here, more than on the other two games. New characters that are pretty well-done (Charlie and Elizabeth, let's ignore Talbot because he was an asshole). Great cinematic pieces, such as the boat in the middle of the sea, the mansion crumbling down, or just simply ledges that would break whenever you grabbed them! And then there's the desert part, which was another interesting take on the whole subject.

Final boss was disappointing, but thankfully, the game wasn't about beating final bosses (It wasn't as annoying as the Uncharted 1 final boss!!!). Though, I have a theory that whatever Salim does, since he's not that fleshed-out of a character, is what Charlie would have done in case they would have kept him. So the desert part is Nathan alone, but then he gets saved by Charlie at the abandoned city, they both rescue Sully, and finally Charlie comes with the horses at the very end, when they escape.

Overall great. Can't wait to play The Last of Us, but I think I'm going to give Gow3 a chance, if I have enough time to beat both games.

Salim and the overall treasure that they found in Ubar is completely irrelevant to the main plot of the game. They drive the plot forward, but the whole purpose of the game is to portray Drake and Sullys relationship. Charlie being there or not being there could've made it weaker or stronger: We don't really know. But for me, it worked brilliantly just the way it is. A writer has to be dynamic in her approach and be able to adapt to situations like this and I applaud Amy Hennig for pulling it off. In UC2: Tenzin almost had more characterism than Drake did really.

UC3 is ND finally going to incredible personal depths and TLOU is ND mastering it. TLOU is all about Joel and Ellie as well. You'll love it.

The excessive enemies after chapter 12 still felt good in my opinion because they did a great job to add variety. The game starts slow but gradually builds up but it always has those cooling off moments even if they are reduced more and more as we get to the ending (obviously the pace needs to go up then).

I ADORE how the game starts slow. A brawl, then some simple movement, platforming, chase sequences etc. That flashback is also really amazing and kudos for ND to going back to Drakes young years.

I have made posts several places, where I compare UC2s design to UC3s design when it comes to levels. I could find the post or you'll just have to take my word for it, haha.

UC2 is largely go to the next area:
    repeat with some puzzles.

UC3 is insanely varied and its what allows me to replay it so madly.
    Melee brawls,
    Chase sequences,
A ton of moments where you just walk around and take in the atmosphere. (Jungle stroll to Chateu, Desert chapter, London streets, Cartagena, Yemen and so on)
    Vertical platform/shooting.
Setpieces that alter animation flow and introduce new mechanics (swimming!),
    Drug moments,
Puzzles (which are also my fave as they are rewarding but not as tedious as some in UC2)

I loved Talbot also. You don't really know anything about him but it doesnt stop from adding a lot to his character, which is entirely about having that element of fear/mysticism. ND really uses the "show but dont tell" method of writing with him as well as the game in general.

I also loved the final boss because the first game had a terrible QTE one. The second one had a and shoot sap one. It felt out of place. The third one: Used mechanics ALREADY established in the game and during it all: I had a feeling that this might be the very end of Uncharted. It felt like a tribute of sorts.

You have this chase moment by jumping on platforms as Ubar is being swallowed by the Rub al Khali. Then you fight him in a melee fist fight. Then you drop down and are forced to platform. And lastly, you finish by shooting him. All of which has an amazing setpiece scenery of everything around you collapsing.

I also loved how Talbot pulls a knife on you rather than actually being something supernatural which is almost what the game made me believe.

So yeah :D Glad you liked it.

GoWIII is mostly dumb from a story perspective when it comes to characters, but it is a fun ride with some of the best and most impressive bosses in any video game that I've played. I also really love the gameplay of the GoW series. You can square square triangle your way through them, but you can also do all kinds of rad shit by combining items and other weapons. So if you're getting bored => You aint doing it right! :D

TLOU and GoWIII have masterful intros. You were a bit into TLOU though, no? So I guess you've seen that one already haha. Anyway, have fun!

    on 14 November 2013

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll tell you my impressions once I beat / played enough of Gow3 (since my priority is beating TLoU). Here's a friend request, by the way :D

In any case, I don't know why everyone complained about the supernatural elements on Uncharted 3. Certainly, those "djinns" were a pain in the ass sometimes, especially when they could eat two RPG bullets, but nowhere as bad as people made them out to be. In fact, they added a lot of depth, even if they ended up being the product of a drug. There were, though, a huge enemy variety here. I was even surprised that in one part you have to face those extremely annoying co-op bosses (because before playing the campaing, I had beaten the co-op campaing splitscreen with a buddy) that are full-armor and throw three grenades at the same time. But it was great! And while I still feel the game could have been better with less enemies, I can say I didn't get bored of taking down hundreds of enemies. They totally refined stealth here, so it was satisfying to take that route! (It was wonky back in Uncharted 2). Loved the intro of Uncharted 3, by the way. I kind of like it more than U2, even if it isn't as epic, it's totally groovy to see Nathan and Sully in a suit kicking ass (though I knew Charlie was on the good side after beating the co-op campaing, hehe).

Agreed with Salim, though. I didn't dislike his small role on the whole plot. It was a support character that had the same objective as Nathan: stopping Elizabeth (after saving Sully). In fact, Nathan was like "well, we saved Sully, so I think we gotta..." and Sully's all like: "LET'S GO STOP HER!" with Salim applauding his decision.

I should record myself playing, though. I encountered tons of funny glitches, and the game even crashed on me, twice. Dunno why, but I've always been able to break a game, no matter how polished it is. I did it with Uncharted 2, as well. I'm unlucky as it is, though I guess I could work as a beta tester =D You can name any game I have played and I have probably broken it, one way or the other. There's only one exception, and that's Metal Gear Solid 4! Never could actually glitch it (aside from the typical clipping through bodies, but that ain't no glitch), nor bug it, nor it did crash. That game has flawless design!

    on 14 November 2013

Lol! I had followed UC3 trailers and stuff like mad and had no idea about Charlie or the Young Drake. So like 30 mins into the game and I was already mind blown lol. As the game went on, I was like.. theres something off. This isn't like the normal Uncharteds.

And as it goes on and the cast is all "Im losing the plot here, remind me why we're doing this?" and Chloe's all "Let this one go", I started slowly getting what the game was really about. It felt great and genuine :D

Lol on the glitches. I made a topic where I deliberately try to glitch out of the invisible walls in the desert. I managed to do it a few times too :D. But yeah, when I played it for the first time or any of the playthroughs really: The game never glitched on me. I had one glitch on UC2 which was the shootout in Shambhala part where its Guardians vs Lazarevics guys. Game froze and when I rebooted I was past that part so.. oh well lol. No biggie.

The Djinns are actually rather easy. Theyre like always 1 shot = death with the Tau pistol. Those guardians in UC2 though.. my god XD Without their own bow, its a pain lol

    on 14 November 2013

Tau pistol! Quite possibly the greatest weapon in Uncharted. There's that other revolver which is even stronger, but lack of ammo makes it pretty scarce. So Tau and M9 are my options, generally =D

    on 14 November 2013

You're probably referring to the Mag5, which is basically the Westar one in UC1&2 (Sullys fave pistol XD)

    on 14 November 2013

    Exactly! ^^
