Ever played Talos Principle?

No! I don't even remember hearing about it. So many games...But I just looked it up, and it's on sale for 80% off on the PSN PlayStation Store store, and it seems to be beloved by many, with very high user reviews. If you tell me to buy it I will.

on 04 September 2020

I won't tell you to buy it because I don't know if you'll enjoy it and I won't force you. But I've certainly been enjoying it recently. It's a puzzle game the closest to which I can compare to is Portal (though, not as immediate I'd say). I haven't played many puzzle games before but again, I'm enjoying it a lot. Has a little bit of an existential story, decent presentation. But the best part imo is that it's actually a fairly good game to relax with, as the puzzles aren't too hard and it's to an extent non-linear, so you can drop puzzles you find hard and come back later (haven't had to look up a single one so far though and there's only 2 that i tried fairly long ago and still haven't gotten, out of dozens and dozens i've done). Don't know if it will gel with you, but it's definitely a pleasant experience imo.

Sold!

on 04 September 2020

nice! tell me how you feel on it. and remember, go at your own pace!

on 04 September 2020

Roger Roger. It ended up being the deluxe edition, which came with the seeeaaason paasssss? and it's associated DLC. Whatever that is.

That one year you were stalking me, how did you check the amount of post I made for it? Or did you just go through them 1 at time and count them?

I just clicked on your" posts" icon and saw that as of April 20th, 2019, you had only posted 15 times. I do like to snoop. People's profiles, trophy lists, underwear drawers, ect, and then comment on my findings.

I think Dark Souls remastered is more cheap atm in playstation summer deals or so,try it try it try it try it :p

Also i can always help when you get stuck, just summon me and i can provide all items needed and kill bosses or help you find bonfires.

on 26 July 2020

Ahh. Thanks Bro! I took a quick look at the sale at about 3am 2 days ago, but had it filtered to "under $20". I just bought Super Blood Hockey, and My Friend Pedro because I'm an idiot.

I'll check the price asap. I'm really trying to control my gaming spending, and doing fairly well, but Dark Souls RM is a must buy.

on 26 July 2020

Damn just checked and it is 39 euros here again, but should be cheaper in your country.

on 26 July 2020

Anyway, you can invest a lot of playtime into it so always a good deal :p

The alts among us.

on 28 July 2020

Wow ... I see how it is :(

Well, this is odd.

on 30 June 2020

It's a two step process, so it's possible that one of us hit "remove friend" and then "OK", but that seems unlikely.

A couple of other things: My friend count did not go down after you were remove. It stayed at 102. Yet it increased to 103 when you were added back.

Also, you still have your original place on the list, instead of a new placement at the very top.

Wish I could say what happened, but it certainly wasn't something done by choice.

on 30 June 2020

Weird. I wasn't actually upset though. Only kidding : D. I knew there must have been an issue.

Anyways, what are you playing these days???

on 30 June 2020

I'm into Megadimension Neptunia V II, and Trials Fusion. So far so good on both.

on 30 June 2020

How about you? And more importantly, how is life in Arizona right now?

on 30 June 2020

That begs the question of what JRPG will be better for you this year, Neptunia VII or FFVIIR :D (Jk, that's a bad joke). Trials Fusion seems interesting. I should get around to trying one of those games sometime. I think I might have tried a demo on the 360 long ago. It reminds me of a time where cute little flash games were big (gameplay wise).

I'm playing Persona 5 and Hollow Knight. So far so good. Hollow Knight is particularly amazing.

The rest of the year is looking a bit weird game wise. I'm excited about the Nier remaster because I really liked Automata and wanted to play the original. The rest is sorta eh.

on 30 June 2020

I didn't like the OG FF VII much, but that was based mostly on random battle frequency + load times. I never even saw Flower Girl die before I sold it....The new one looks good though. I generally LOVE the dialogue in Neptunia games, but VII has soooo much. Too much imo. It's still good though. Even in a slog of text based exposition, there's still value. It definitely pushes, and often exceeds, the boundaries of good pacing though.

on 30 June 2020

I finished it for the first time this year. I liked it a lot. I thought the materia system was really cool. But I definitely had my gripes. One of the biggest being that the game just wouldn't tell you were to go, many times. Also the fact that the game really ruins a lot of it's momentum by changing the villain from a megacorporation that's basically just a metaphor for pollution to, well, a really boring character like Sephiroth. Among other things, but those things really dampened a lot of enjoyment. Still a good game though. I honestly found Remake pretty boring by Chapter 4, but then again, I'm not really into cinematic games, or big AAA time wasters.

That's cool. I haven't played them. I've definitely been learning the value of good dialogue as I get more into JRPGs. Vesperia still the king there , imo.

HITMAN 3! HITMAN 3! HITMAN 3! HITMAN 3! HITMAN 3! HITMAN 3 HITMAN 3! HITMAN 3!

Yep! I bought all the DLC for 2 recently. It's definitely on my short list. Gonna play through it before Hitman 3 for sure. Have you played the new missions?

on 11 June 2020

To be honest,I'm not really a DLC person. Haven't bought a DLC in a long time I think. Maybe i'll make an exception for 2 though.

also, that conference in general was jam packed with cool looking games : )

on 11 June 2020

I liked the show too. Lots of good stuff IMO. And yes, you should think about the season pass for Hitman 2.I basically looks like more cool locations and missions to play around in. More of the same, but the same is so good. Well, I assume so anyway. :)

on 08 May 2020

Well, I'm playing Far Cry 4, which seems to have rubbed Kirby the wrong way. First Far Cry game and I really like it. The last few hours of my session last night were sublime.

I'm thinking about doing some basic uploading and a bit of streaming on YouTube, and editng a video to upload on Pornhub. I don't think I have the proper tools though, so the next step for that is to find a decent video editor.

What's up with you man?

on 08 May 2020

I think FarCry 5 is better, definitely pick that one up next.

I've been doing alright, I think i'll survive. Basically been playing way too much Animal Crossing, but I compensate with CoD Warzone.

on 09 May 2020

Thanks for the recommendation. I have been thinking about getting Far Cry 3 remaster and/or 5 and have pretty much settled on Far Cry 5. I read that 3 is basically a poor remaster, which sucks, because I've always heard such great things about the original version.

on 09 May 2020

Only ever played from the Blood Dragon on. So far 5 has been the best out of all for me.

on 04 May 2020

I'm playing Dragon's Dogma right now. Have you played that one? I feel like we might have talked about it before, but currently my memory has collapsed due to Joementum

Due to my forever-living love of the godly company known as Capcom, I'm obliged to tell you that if you have not yet played this cinematic japanese-masterpiece, you must do so in the recent future!

on 09 April 2020

Well sir, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen just happens to be one of my favourite games from last gen, and an all time favourite as well. Have the current gen remaster as well, but haven’t played it.

I love it so much, it's almost perverted, and took the "role playing" as serious as a little kid. Simply hanging out at a campfire in the dead of night with a group on npcs and my party was something I found cool.

I also own the current gen remaster, but haven't played it yet. I assume this is the version you are playing?

on 09 April 2020

I don't know I put that I own the remaster twice in that post, especially since I was fully aware if it moments before I hit add.

on 09 April 2020

And yes, I'm quite sure DDDA came up in a previous exchange regarding Capcom.

on 09 April 2020

Wow, that is quite the praise! See, the funny thing is, it was one of those situations where I wasn't really sure if you we had talked about it, but if we had I was 100% sure you said it was your favorite (or maybe you didn't but I just expected it was the case given your love for Monster Hunter-like games).

I'm playing the PC release, which so far is pretty good! It has some of the extra content which, I suppose, I should be getting to soon. Also does some neat accessibility things (like having a stone which eternally works for going back to Gran Soren). It's also a pretty good port, I've heard Capcom has been on the ball port wise this gen and this remaster (which actually came out before the current gen console re-releases interestingly enough) is nice.

It's a bit rough in areas but I had already expected that, kinda goes with the game's reputation, but what it does well are things generally not done well in a lot of RPGs of it's caliber (as in, it feels much more like a WRPG than a JRPG, but it doesn't have the faults that a lot of the WRPG genre has).

Is sitting around a campfire even a thing in this game? Sounds like a dumb question but, I haven't done it yet! I remember thinking early on that it would've been useful to have a mechanic where you could set up camp to progress time.

Apparently i'm close-ish towards the end, which is a bit surprising, it felt like I was only at the halfway point haha!

on 11 April 2020

I totally forgot this was released on PC. Not sure what you mean by " it has some of the extra content". Is the PC version missing something that the console versions of Dark Arisen had? The Dark Arisen stuff was a nice touch, so I hope you have access to it all.

There was often a campfire set up by NPC's in the southern part of the map. Close to some ruins and also inside those same ruins after you clear them of bandits or some other type of scum. It had no in-game purpose, but I used to smoke a lot of marijuana. :)

It's been 7 years, so a few things are lost to the mists of time. I cannot remember if the console versions had this stone you speak of. Let me know when you're finished with it all.

on 13 April 2020

*SPOILERS FOR DRAGON'S DOGMA*

Nah I was just phrasing it weirdly, it includes all the content : )

Alright, finished it today! Although, technically the peaceful ending where you just become king and let the dragon kill your "beloved" is one I got two days ago, though it's not the true ending.

Definitely some interesting concepts towards the end. I kind of would like an entire game built around the concept of being God, might have to try out some God-sims now. I think it's a little funny how on the nose all the will stuff was, especially considering the game basically makes you kill yourself.

It kinnnndaaa reminded me of Nier Automata in the sense that the dragon fight and the fight before the true Arisen reveals himself are very nearly meta-textual, what with all the talk about how you do things, why you do things, how your character is a puppet for some "greater purpose". Just, not in the context of war necessarily, unlike Automata. It's a bit of a stretch I admit but I think it makes sense.

Thinking back on it, I don't think I actually ended up doing any of the bitterblack isle stuff. Although, killing the dragon does get you weapons that i'm told are from the bitterblack isle expansion. Whenever I replay the game, I'll definitely have to do that stuff! I'll also probably spend more time farming next time in everfall, was kinda in a rush towards the end. Also apparently once you kill the main dragon, more dragons show up spread across the map? Pretty cool.

on 14 April 2020

Sweeeet. :) I actually ended up doing 2 full playthroughs, and did all the Bitterblack stuff too. The only thing I can't recall is how/when I tackled it in relation to the main game. It was... more difficult? It was definitely set up quite differently than the main game, and not a place you should visit until sufficiently levelled/equipped.

Nier Automatically this year for sure!

on 15 April 2020

I think you've talked about getting to that before : D lol, it's fine, no rush in getting to games imo

I mean, I hope it was going good before all this happened. And that it still is, as much as it can be during the current situation. Also, tell Anita Sarkeesian I think she killed it on The Colbert Report.

on 22 March 2020

Well I just go to a community college and not a university yet since it's cheaper for your first few years (and since I did terrible in High School lol) so luckily atleast my living situation hasn't changed at all and I'm not too inconvenienced. Other than that, honestly i've been pretty depressed lately. Just very unhappy. But I am doing "good" in the traditional sense, so i'm fine.

What about you? What's been going on in Maple Syrup Town?

Gotcha, i'll tell her. Anything you want Cenk Uygur to hear too? We exchange words at the water cooler : )

I wish I had some ( good ) advice to dispense regarding the depression. but I'm glad to hear things are otherwise well at least. I'll try to think of something once I eat and get into a more comfortable chair. This chair is terrible, and I'm very hungry!

I must say, I'm a bit surprised that you didn't do well in high school, but you're not the first obviously intelligent person I've known who had struggles in various levels of education, for any number of reasons.

I'll dm you later.
