    Favourite Games:

Trying to choose favourite games is a little like trying to choose between my children; i.e. pretty much impossible. I've played and loved so many -- even bad ones -- that picking out the best is an exercise in futility. Instead, I'll list a bunch I've played, and really enjoyed, recently (13/06/09):

Assassin's Creed, BioShock, Fallout 3, Flower, Heavenly Sword, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Mass Effect, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, SingStar, Super Mario Galaxy, PixelJunk: Monsters, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, The Elder Scrolls IV: The Oblivion, Valkyria Chronicles, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II, Wii Fit, WipEout HD

However, the more I think on this, the more titles come to mind...

    Favourite Music:

I listen to a lot of music and have no strong preference for any genre; it all depends upon my mood, really. From metal to classical, from pop to alternative, I'm not too fussed. Current artists flooding my ears include:

Bach, Barber, Billy Joel, Clannad, Fields of the Nephilim, Fleetwood Mac, Foo Fighters, Lily Allen, Linkin Park, Metallica, Michael Jackson, Mika, Muse, Nirvana, Placebo, Rhianna, Scissor Sisters, Sky, Sugababes, Take That (new stuff), The Killers.

However, that is just the tip of the iceberg; providing a full list would take up most of this page.

    Favourite Films:

I love movies. I have a pretty eclectic taste, and enjoy everything from serious thrillers to mindless blockbusters, from over-the-top slashers to romantic comedies (yes, I know that's uncool -- I don't care). Movies I've watched and enjoyed this year (2008-2009) include:

300, Alien, Descent, Fellowship of the Ring, Léon, Lost Boys (I've watched this movie far too many times), Love Actually, Momento, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Pulp Fiction, Stardust, Sweeny Todd, The Dark Knight, The Duchess, The Matrix, The Princess Bride, The Usual Suspects.

That said, I do enjoy sci-fi, fantasy, and vampire films of all types, even the bad ones -- they're a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine (especially vampire films).

    Favourite Books:

I've always gravitated towards science fiction and fantasy as a nurtured preference, but I count books from most genres amongst my favourites. I also love graphic novels, and don't read as many as I'd wish. The following are some of my stand-out titles:

Dune, Dracula, His Dark Materials, Hyperium, Illium, Orlando, Paradise Lost, Peter Pan and Wendy, Promethea, The Eternal Champion, The Eyre Affair, The Strange Case of Dr. Jykll and Mr. Hyde, Time Enough for Love, War of the Worlds, Watchmen.

Really, I don't read as much as I'd like to anymore, primarily because gaming constantly seems to get in the way...

    Hobbies:

Fortunately, my hobbies are also my job: tabletop roleplaying, drawing, cartography, writing, photoshopping, chatting to cool peeps, reading - lots of reading -, and general roleplaying games design. I freelance as a writer, artist, and cartographer for a number of game companies, which means I get paid to do my hobbies. Nice. I'm probably best known for my work in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay.

Besides that, I look after my two kids at home -- so I visit parks, mess around, sing songs badly, cook, and other similar stiff. Of them all, I probably enjoy cooking the most, but don't do it as much as I'd like (the story of my life).

Oh, and I play a lot of games on my consoles and PCs, but that much should be obvious.

    About Me:

I'm a house-dad who freelances in his spare time. I'm a geek on more levels than many can stand. I can juggle. I like crisps too much (chips for you American peeps). I'm a touch too loud and am known for being the happy, chatty one. I'm Scottish and, yes, I like to wear a skirt.
