New York, Paris, London or Tokyo?

in General Discussion on 02 May 2018

I've been to New York and London. NYC is honestly kind of awful, not worth the trip at all IMO. London was nice and clean, much more fun to visit. I've zero interest in visiting Paris. Tokyo would be a dream to visit. Other big cities that would be interesting for me to visit would include Rome & Cairo....

White Millenial Men Now Majority Republican

in Politics Discussion on 01 May 2018

Tim Pool did a video about this yesterday, highlighted a handful of articles all pointing the same way. A number of different possible explanations exist for younger people latching onto a traditionally older-person's political party:: - one group (CIS straight white males) are told by the left they have an original sin (privilege) while offering no absolution - some people switched sides...

Cooking is a fantastic hobby, fun and rewarding. Not only do you learn to be less useless in the kitchen, it engenders a willingness to take risks - try new techniques or ingredients that a recipe requires, and eventually you'll probably be emboldened to try more complicated recipes. It also gives you the ability to make something to share with others, making potlucks and other meal-centric...

    Ubification of games. Jimquisition

in Gaming Discussion on 21 April 2018

Not quite 100% on topic, but I skipped out on Shadow of Mordor 2 for multiple reasons...one of them being that, as much as I loved 100%ing the first game, I really didn't feel up to doing the same open world stuff again so soon. Kind of the same thing with TellTale games, I only 100%ed few of those and although I loved what I played, I'm more than okay to not play any more for a long time. I...

The defining factor to discerning and understanding Bloodbornes story is binary.

in Gaming Discussion on 18 April 2018

Just to be sure, there are 2 main arcs to it which before a certain event and after this same event. In the pre-event (and I'm being vague on purpose here) the cosmic horror / gore elements are slowly introduced to the story. In...

The defining factor to discerning and understanding Bloodbornes story is binary.

in Gaming Discussion on 18 April 2018

I would say that the appreciation for BB stems from your enjoyment of cosmic horror, whether you have encountered it before or not. ] remember loving 'Event Horizon' back in 97 without having a clue as to what this 'new genre' of horror should be called. Years later through D&D I discovered Lovecraft and, well, finding a new subgenre is fairly exciting. Beyond all that, digging for the story...

    Most Memorable Playable Demos?

in Gaming Discussion on 17 April 2018

Demos were a thing of magic back with the PS1. The most memorable for me was Resident Evil 2, it was shocking how much better it looked than #1. I also remember the idea of an entire city turning into zombies actually made me a bit sick....

Dragon Quest XI coming September 4th to PS4 and Steam - Switch 'much later', no 3DS version

in Gaming Discussion on 30 March 2018

Well this thread took a sad turn since I last posted. I wouldn't worry about the various western additions to the game bugging it up; all this is done by SE to put their best foot forward for a franchise that relies heavily on nostalgia that doesn't exist on the same level worldwide as it does in Japan. The majority of the time spent is for the voice acting, and you can blame people...

The Emperor didn't need to be explained in the OT - the Empire were the villains, ergo we have an Emperor helming it. Vader serves him, so he's probably super OP. He wants Vader to find Luke to become his new apprentice, and decides to kill him when he declines after revealing he has a sister (another potential convert). Snoke, on the other hand...he comes out of nowhere in chapter #7, with a...
