Is this the longest ever gap between new releases for a Nintendo IP? 35 years is insane.

Glad to see Emio is getting a physical release. It's on my radar for an eventual purchase.

I think the closest competitor is arguably Nintendo World Championship at 34 years, if you count the 1990 limited release.

Also, a few others stand out:

  • 22 Years - Pokemon Snap (1999 to 2021)
  • 21 Years - Kid Icarus (1991 to 2012)
  • 18 Years - Metroid Prime (2007 to 2025), X (1992 to 2010)
  • 17 Years - 2D Metroid
  • 16 Years - Excite (1984 to 2000)
  • 15 Years - Clubhouse Games (2005 to 2020), Mario Strikers (2007 to 2022), Pilotwings (1996 to 2011), Punch-Out (1994 to 2009)
