Getting Activision is 100% worth for MS because they get major IPs and also a bigger foothold into areas that they wanted to expand into like PC/Mobile/GaS, Activision made 5 billion in MTX alone last year breaking their own record and it will likely happen again with Overwatch 2, Warcraft Mobile, Diablo Immortal, Diablo 4, MW2, Warzone 2, Warzone Mobile and the cash cow that is Candy Crush/King.
Personally I just don’t care anymore if the mainline CoD games don’t stay exclusive, the problem for me is that ActiBlizz don’t offer anything that I’m interested in or move the needle for me, It’s not really about exclusives but I would much rather have more investment go into traditional AAA games so WB/Eidos/Crystal would have been much more interesting purchase to me.
