I liked Linkin Park's first 2 albums, but man they sure did take a turn for the worse. Went from making nu metal to ultra poppy rock. Their alienation of their original fanbase was reflected in their sales too, dropped from 12x and 7x platinum on the first two down to 4x on the 3rd and then single platinum or below on every later album.

I'd say the sales decline was more to do with the decrease in music sales that most acts have seen in the past 15-20 years. Their first two albums also came out at the right time - they were at the forefront of one of the biggest musical movements at the time. Not outright saying there wasn't a backlash, but there were other factors. Hybrid Theory is a great album, but Meteora was a weak follow up. Minutes to Midnight, Living Things and The Hunting Party are all great albums.

My vote would probably go to some grindcore band with awful songwriting and terrible production. I like a lot of extreme metal, but even I have a limit.

Also, Nickelback are boss ^^

You may be right, but I know I personally listened to them alot less after Meteora. A handful of their later songs are pretty good like "What I've Done", "Bleed It Out", "New Divide", and "Guilty All The Same", but even those best songs from their albums after the first 2 just aren't as good as those early songs from Hybrid Theory and Meteora imo.

Also I agree on Nickelback. I discovered Nickelback and Linkin Park around the same time in like 2000-2001 when Hybrid Theory and Silver Side Up released and I was like 11 years old, and I enjoy them both to this day. I have no idea why Nickelback gets so much hate online. For anyone to call them the worst band I just find a ridiculous notion, I could understand somebody calling them overrated maybe, but literally the worst band on the planet? Did Chad Kroeger steal their girlfriends or something? xD

Creed is another band like Nickelback that I see getting far too much hate online, and I have no idea why. I love Creed, they have some fantastic songs like “My Own Prison”, “Higher”, and “Overcome”. I love Creed, I love Alter Bridge (which is the instrumentalists of Creed with a different singer after Creed broke up), and I love Scott Stapp’s solo stuff like “Purpose for Pain”.
