I finally got my PS5 today. I don't remember being this excited about my first few hours with PS4 and I think it's due to the combination of DualSense, no loading, 60fps and of course the games (I haven't spent time with the UI yet).

Like hinch said, Astro needs to be experienced. If DualSense isn't innovation, I don't know what is. The game is quite special for long-time PS users and I'm sitting here wanting more. Might have to buy Sackboy as it seems like a lot of fun as well.

Demon's Souls is also pretty amazing so far (only played 30 minutes). I have the original on PS3 but 60fps is something else. It might be difficult going back to 30fps in most genres and I hope devs include a 60fps mode going forward.

Besides DS, I ended up buying AC Valhalla. I haven't played it yet but after seeing Digital Foundry's coverage, I had to support that solid 60fps (and that Norwegian setting ). It seems like Ubisoft did a great job in spite of the Anvil engine.

The mic in the controller isn't that great and I'm disappointed that Cyberpunk will now be a 2021 game for me (the latest trailers and it being 30fps tell me that I have to wait for the dedicated PS5 release). But besides from that, PS5 is firing on all cylinders.

It turns out Mark Cerny wasn't bullshitting when he said that we shouldn't rely solely on teraflops and CU count. That ingenious son of a gun.
