Pokemon is THE biggest offender of this IMO. The original games have already been remade twice (three times if you include the Japanese exclusive red/green versions, or even four times if you also include yellow as a red/blue remake). But worse than that is all of the non-stop pandering to gen 1 fans. They're trying to cash in on the nostalgia far too hard, to the point that it's making the games worse even. Like, Alolan forms were an awesome idea. Having them be exclusively for gen 1 Pokemon however? That was an unnecessary restriction that made them less interesting than they could've been.

I don't even mind the re-releasing of old games. Release them on Steam and I'll buy them in a heartbeat. Just stop ruining the new games with unnecessary appeals to nostalgia.
