There is a famous football player. His name is Barry Sanders.  He played for the detroit lions.

His jersey number (The number on the back) was 20.

Garth brooks (famous country guy) was in detroit and wearing a barry Sanders Jersey. Various Trump fans saw the "blue" the "Sanders" and the "20" and thought it was a political reference to Berry Sanders running in 2020.

When it was simply just a detroit jersey of Barry Sanders.

Alright, so I DID get it, I just couldn't confirm it. I know Bernie Sanders is running in 2020, I know Dems are blue, and I know that's a football jersey. I also know Garth Brooks is a country dude (And almost certainly a republican, since that's sort of how it goes, but there are exceptions). I just didn't KNOW there was a dude named Barry Sanders that was #20. I sort of assumed based on people's responses, but I couldn't find out if there was becuase I don't know where to look. I did google it but apparently had no idea what terms to use becuase it came up with nothing.
