Brand loyalty in Europe and Japan in itself will make PS5 win. And this is coming from a diehard Xbox fan.

That said the “winner” isn’t just about moving the most boxes anymore. Sony could sell the most boxes but MS could very well have a higher active player base. Spread across Pc, Xbox, and Xcloud (I think they will eventually release a Xcloud box for approx $100 for strictly streaming games on TV which will do wonders in its weaker markets.

That said they will do great and probably win in North America with a cheaper Xbox, along with having the more powerful one too. Game pass will be so successful that MS will be profitable regardless of what Sony does.

All that said the article is silly to say everybody should get some combination of gaming PC, PS5 and Switch. Many people only get 1-2 devices per gen (PC being one). To suggest a gaming PC when Xbox Series X is significantly cheaper and more convenient to buy is completely ignored.

I will say anyone who thinks the next gen will be another blowout is sorely mistaken because Xbox isn’t repeating its disastrous start like in 2013

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
