Same. I don't have a 4K monitor yet, so what do I need a 4K console for? Would rather save probably $150 compared to buying Series X and put that $150 towards saving to get a 4K monitor.

This does nothing for me as I have a One X and there would be little point upgrading to a Lockhart. BUT I think it would be good for Xbox more generally - improves the low bar for future Xbox games.

Lockhart (If it eventuates) should still offer an uptick in visuals if it retains the same base hardware feature set as it's bigger brother, It's not all about flops.

True, but with most AAA developers already using good AA methods these days, and the fact that the native 1440p on Lockhart/S would also provide some super sampling on a 1080p screen, I don't think it's enough of a selling point.

"good" is up for debate.
The Temporal Anti-Aliasing techniques these days are a step up over Morphological that was common during the 7th gen, but Temporal still has some caveats, namely Ghosting and Blurring.

Super Sampling is the best method... But you are right, you will get it from 1440P, but we don't know if Lockhart is a 1440P console or if developers would even bother to target that resolution... But we do know Scarlett will be chasing 4k.

It's true that having 4 GB less RAM than Series X might result in some lower quality textures, but are you really going to see much difference on a 1080p screen? Some difference for sure, but I don't think it will be hugely noticeable unless you're playing on a larger 4K screen.

Yes.
Texture resolution is independent of display resolution.
Granted you can resolve more details with a 4k display, that doesn't mean higher quality textures can't be shown on a 1080P display, we are a long way from photo realism even at 1080P afterall.

I think that 6-7 tflop should be able to handle 1440p without framerate issues, based on the PC 1440p vs 4k benchmarks I've looked at.

Flops themselves are useless.

What we think is pretty irrelevant, I rather deal with known quantities and we need to be realistic that we don't know what Lockhart is, what it is capable of or even if it is a product.
