I’m a teacher and it is definitely still a thing.  In fact it seems like it is resurging.  I hear more students talking about Minecraft then any other game.  I hardly even hear them talk about fortnite (thank the lord).

Minecraft did see an increase in popularity this year. PewDiePie and the Creeper Aw Man meme helped with the increase. 

The thing about Minecraft is there is so much you can do with it. Regular survival, building, adventure maps, mini games, modded, etc. It is kinda why GTAV is still so popular.
