Summary for April 2019

The Google spreadsheet with all collected data can be viewed here.

Contrary to the previous summary's announcement, there was actually a physical first party release in April: Nintendo Labo: Toy-Con 04 VR Kit. This game is available in two versions: A starter kit and a full set; expansions can be purchased separately for the starter kit. Regardless of the purchased version or additional expansions, it's always only one game because the game card that comes with either version is exactly the same and expansions only come with more cardboard pieces.

In addition to the digital-only BOXBOY! + BOXGIRL!, another entry in the Picross S series was released out of nowhere. All games under the Picross umbrella count as first party games because Nintendo holds the copyright for the Picross name.

The spreadsheet experienced a small overhaul and combined the various Nintendo Labo and Picross titles into fewer columns than before. While Labo should now have reached the end of its run, Picross is probably not even at its halfway mark yet.

In yet another new all-time low that was recorded, at least two major milestones can be celebrated.

19 RE Picross S 10 - 10 - 9

Hardly anything changed in the past month. Picross S re-enters the chart, but that might just be due to GoOnKid forgetting to add a 3 to his post, because the timing of a Picross S purchase is suspicious when it happens during the release week of Picross S3. Yoshi's Crafted World had the most new copies of any first party game registered during April, but falls just short of the charts with a tally of 9. BOXBOY! + BOXGIRL! and Picross S3 came in at 2 copies each.

May seems to be an empty month as far as first party releases are concerned.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.
