I've listened to many of you wonder what's coming. How will games look? Perform? Feel? Well, today, I can present a work-in-progress from some of the developers who work on the Unity Engine. This was a playable environment, using the latest in photogrammetry. These are actual shots from my playtime (which I could play in both 1st and 3rd person). And let me tell you, if this is what we can expect at the beginning, I can only imagine what we're going to be seeing in the next 6-10 years. This beautifully rendered environment made me think about open world next gen games with such crisp fidelity. Imagine firing up the next Elder Scrolls or Red Dead games in Gen 9 that look like this!

But this goes beyond the typical 'CGI-Quality Graphics' Topic. Today, I'll show you how you can produce your own environments with this level of detail. My secondary post will be from just screenshots of my play time. Here, I hope for everybody to take in how to do this and, maybe, learn something today. I just got into photogrammetry myself, so while I may be a little ahead of you guys, I still have much to learn about it!

Everyone is free to give feedback. Be negative or positive. Make it constructive, though, as the guys who worked on this project put a lot of time into it and they, like me, know that this is what you can expect from many of your more open-ended games next gen.

Enjoy! *NOTE: The screens with information on them actually reduced some of the graphical quality
