Platinum points are cumulative, as they were in Kapi's league, though I think Kapi reset the points to zero at the end of the year, and I'm not sure whether or not I wanna do that yet at this point. Especially since I've increased the point minimum on the platinum requirement to make sure it's something people have to work harder for, so maybe that'll just be a constant that everyone has to show for themselves. We'll see when we cross that threshold of a whole year how everyone feels about that.

So no, it doesn't count 'once'...it counts has long as you have it, and gets subtracted in the event that you should lose it. DLC is essentially irrelevant in the process as of right now, as that just makes tracking the whole thing more of a hassle. If it takes somebody buying DLC to reach a platinum (750-1000 GS) that's fine, but of course somebody else might have already completed a game by the time that becomes a factor, so the completionists will always have the edge on the points bonus over those relying on DLC.

You do make a valid point about previous efforts on a game, and then just topping it off to start the league. I was going to just rule out anyone who'd already reached 750 or more GS on game from being eligible for that platinum, but perhaps it would be all around fairer, and easier tracking wise, to just limit games eligible for platinums to anything released from next month onward.

When I was actually thinking about getting the league up and running again sometime around last October I was thinking about how to run the platinums and the points for them.

The best idea I came up with is that only games released in the current year are eligible for the platinum points but then I also thought about how MS release their big exclusives at the end of the year and they would get cut off to soon so in the end my plan was going to be to use the current years games + Q4 games of the previous year ( I wasn't sure if I would take all games in that period or just the Xbox first/second party games)

For an example for the 2017 Gamerscore League:

- All games released after 1st January 2017 are eligible for the platinum points

- Q4 2016 games are eligible for platinum points ( Games released in October, November and December)

- All games released released prior to 1st October 2016 are not eligible for platinum points

- Possible special rules for first party games released close to the cut off such as Recore or Forza Horizon 3 which released a few days before above cut off been eligible for the 2017 Gamerscore league, The reasoning for this is due to the nature of how Forza is a big game for Xbox and will be getting DLC and more Gamerscore added in 2017 and will still have plenty of people earning Gamerscore throughout the year either by playing the DLC or sicne it's a big exclusive many will still be picking it up throughout 2017.

- After the 2017 Gamerscore league is over for the 2018 League  you repeat the above: Q4 2017 games + any game releasing after 1st January 2018 are eligible for platinum points

The main reasoning behind the thoughts on the above was due to how much time it would require  searching through poeples profiles for games released over the past 3.5 years where as you could easily keep track of the new releases that people are playing, It also encourages people to play new games for the extra platinum points and keep it more competitive as you could go through your older games that have 700gs and easily make some points by popping a few achievements to get to the 750 points required if no one else is already there.
